Super sedan drag and roll race - F90 M5 Competition vs. Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid vs. Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S vs. Tesla Model S P100D

Well, here it is, the four top accelerating super sedans on the market today. Yes, a Tesla Model S P100D is included and that is basically all the P100D is good for unlike the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4MAtic+ 4-Door which is proving to be a terror on the track and not just a one-trick pony.

So, the major players are all here. The BMW F90 M5 in Competition trim and the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. This is great to see as the Panamera hints at the future of Porsche high performance with hybrid drivetrains offering something in-between the all-electric Tesla and the turbo V8 German sedans.

The M5 is the lightest car here in the 42XX pound range. The AMG is next at ~4500 pounds followed by the Tesla P100D at ~5000 pounds. The Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is actually the heaviest car of the group at 51XX pounds.

The Tesla predictably gets out in front on the (very dusty) tarmac. It wins with the M5 oddly bringing up the rear.

    P100D - 10.8
    GT 63 S - 11.1
    Panamera - 11.2
    M5 Comp - 12.4

Carwow just struggles to launch the F90 M5 which is kind of sad.

The roll race is not done well as the starting gear favors the Tesla. Predictably, the Tesla gets a lead with the others having to run it down. The Mercedes passes the P100D while the Panamera and M5 are behind. The camera angles do not do a good job covering all four cars and their positions.

The racing ends with Carwow humping the Tesla. A poor video overall but if you're into stoplight runs the P100D is very hard to beat.

That and why can't these people figure out how to get trap speeds or some rolling acceleration numbers?

    It frustrates me so much...

The M5C is an automatic with AWD. How the hell can you mess that up twice in a row? Hacks...

They likely have no idea how to use it. Even a standard gas/brake launch to load up the torque converter a little would produce a better time than they got. Absolutley amature drivers on that channel. Literally disgraceful to the manufacturers and cars they “test”. Click here to enlarge

I do agree they are not at the pro level. However, in the video, if you gents care to watch it....he also indicated that in another vid where the LC works, the M5 does the same time with the AMG GT car. He seems to blame LC in BMW is not working consistently. Not sure how true that is....
