1st gen Audi R8 V10 5.2 vs. new 2018 Porsche Panamera Turbo roll on

The other day we saw an acceleration comparison between the W213 E63 S and the Panamera Turbo and the E63 S is substantially quicker. That does not mean the Panamera Turbo is slow by any means especially judging by this video.

It goes up against a 1st generation Audi R8 V10. This means the R-Tronic sequential manual gearbox as the R8 did not get a dual clutch transmission until the facelifted version. Plus, you can hear the shifts in the video and the R8 loses ground when it shifts compared to the Panamera.

The R8 has the advantage of weighing roughly 1000 pounds less but the Panamera has more horsepower and torque from its new 4.0 liter twin turbo V8.

Overall a close run between the two. It would be better to see how a second gen dual clutch R8 stacks up though.

No one has aftermarket tunes for them? They just seem really laggy. I know different car but my brothers aventador shifts crazy fast for single clutch. It's like a shogun went off each gear very fun feeling.

They do but it's a sequential manual.

The Aventador is an ISR gearbox. Single clutch but different.

S-Tronic sequential manual gearbox as the R8 did not get a dual clutch

I think they called it R-Tronic for the R8's, you're right. I'll edit.
