    Eurocharged unlocks Bosch M177/M178 MED17.7.5 ECU's in late 2016 / early 2017 Mercedes-AMG models

Some tuners have struggled to flash tune Mercedes-AMG vehicles namely W205 C63's and C190 AMG GT's from late 2016 and early 2017 build dates. Eurocharged is able to tune the new Bosch MED17.7.5 ECU's and also claims to be the first to be able to do so.

We have had a few ecu's in recent past that were not able to be communicated with so after some development of new hardware just for these ecus to tune. If you have a NEW model 177/178 and have not been able to get tuned because of this issue, let us know and we can get it done for you so you can enjoy like the rest
Tuners seem to be pretty quiet on this issue or what changes Mercedes-AMG made to lock out tuners.

Either way though, Eurocharged has the issue solved.

I wonder what the details are about this issue, I wasn't even aware of there was some difficulty associated with the MED17.7.5 Ecu.
It's true it uses slight different connection protocol, 2 extra pins for GPT connection are needed and the calibration being allocated in two different memory sections makes the process take little longer than usual to read and write. Maybe the restriction is related to the equipment Being used to flash, some companies don't offer support or is not fully developed. I could be wrong but this post makes me reallly curious, since thankfully I haven't come across any problems with this exact ECU. Could be luck... who knows... maybe they can shime in and explain a little about the whole topic and the problem they were having!

I think you raise a good point. I'd like to know what changed that made things more difficult as well.

They have a competitive advantage at the moment. If they're smart, they won't say anything.

But @kbaldi29 is tuning without issue so what is the competitive advantage?

ummm...which tuners that are not able to tune the 2016 and 2017 versions. ???

I personally have a 2016 C63 and it is tuned without any issues. My friend also has a 2016 AMG GT that is tuned without any issues.

    something smells funny...

A tuner sent me this today:

Btw, new article you have posted about MED17.7.5/MED17.7.3.1. We had the ECU before it was released in production in 2014 as 2015 models Click here to enlarge. So it's interesting other what they claim; including disconnecting battery to reset car...

Not sure why we can't seem to get clarification on this.

looks like they are the only ones that could have had problems bro.

I also called my friend yesteday who has a 2016 C63 with a Renntech tune. His car is running well without any issues

I don't know why they would post this then. Not sure why they won't answer either but whatever.
