AMS expanding their Alpha Performance M133 product offering to include CLA45/GLA45 intake, downpipes, heat exchanger, and new Alpha tune

AMS currently only offers an intake for the M133 2.0 liter AMG turbocharger four-cylinder engine in the CLA45/GLA45 AMG models. They are planning to expand their offering considerably by adding a downpipe, heat exchanger, and Alpha ECU Tuning to tie it all together.

AMS claims huge 20 horsepower gains for their intake on the platform:

Normally we would be skeptical but OE Tuning showed huge intake gains as well. The factory intake seems to be a bottleneck and AMS makes a strong case supporting this point not only with their dyno plot but images showing how much wider their inlet is versus the stock design:

The factory design does appear to be a limitation especially for those increasing boost. AMS intends to have a downpipe join the intake shortly:

The downpipe should provide large gains as well:

Alpha customers can expect this exhaust by the end of fall/early winter.
In addition to the downpipe an upgraded heat exchanger is in the works. This will improve the cooling capacity of the factory water to air design. It is wider by 20mm offering greater depth and surface area. This is also expected this fall which means soon.

To tie this all together AMS will have an M133 Alpha tune. They will have the standard tune and then a bolt on tune designed to be run with these products.

We hope the see the full unveiling with details shortly. It certainly is nice that M133 owners are getting more options on the market and that the competition in this sector is increasing.
