    • F1 2018 - Mercedes-AMG gets a 1-2 finish at the German Grand Prix thanks to a gift from Vettel

      Mercedes-AMG had another strong showing and a 1-2 finish but they received a rather large gift from Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel who locked up and hit a wall while leading the race. Rain came pouring in and some cars were caught with the wrong tires.


      Then again, the rain was sporadic and not intense enough to force most drivers to come in and change tires. This made things interesting as various tire strategies were tried.

      AMG essentially got a gift as Hamilton was forced to start 14th after problems in qualifying. Vettel cruised ahead of Bottas until he crashed and by then Hamilton caught up to Bottas and the two AMG driver's went at it until team orders quickly stopped the fun and told Bottas to stay in second.

      Here is where we are now in the standings:




      The Hungarian GP is up next this Sunday.
