    • F1 2018 - Mercedes-AMG gets a 1-2 finish in Spain

Things are picking up for the Mercedes-AMG team as they are coming off back to back victories. Lewis Hamilton picked up both wins. Valtteri Bottas finished second in Spain giving Mercedes-AMG a dominant 1-2 finish which is also how they qualified.

Third place went to Red Bull's Max Verstappen who admirably made it to his first podium of the season despite damage to his front diffuser. Definitely some good driving from the rising star.

The race seemed to come down to pit strategy with teams such as Ferrari going early to medium compound tires and hoping it would not rain. Mercedes-AMG had Bottas come in to respond to Ferrari's strategy but Hamilton was so far ahead really nobody could catch him and the battles for position were all behind him.

There was one major incident early on you can view in the video summary below. Ultimately, Hamilton and Mercedes-AMG looked dominant.

Monaco is up next on the 27th where qualifying is of utmost importance.
