    • Auto Motor Und Sport BMW F90 M5 vs. Mercedes-AMG W213 E63 S test data

The data here is in German but the audience reading no doubt can figure out what means what. The acceleration data in particular should be easy to understand. According to the numbers, the W213 E63 S is the quicker and faster car.

At this point, there is conflicting data from multiple sides but it looks to be that as more test and videos come out the E63 S appears to have the edge.

It's a tenth quicker to 60 and what is really telling is that it gets to 280 kph over two seconds quicker than the M5. That points to a solid power advantage considering the as tested weight of 4475 pounds. That is 250 pounds more than the M5 carries.

The German publication picks the E63 S as their favorite car. As to why, well, you'll need to learn how to read in German.

Thank you to @Vasily1 for the data

Yes, the E63S is quicker across the board, but that looks like it's a complete driver's race to me.

E63S simply gets a .1 sec advantage at the jump, and just holds that tiny lead until 220kmh. At that point, I'm assuming a large part of the speed-point variance is due to shifts, areo, etc.

The 0-400m (slightly less than 1/4 mile) time is again almost identical, and a driver's race.

Benz should offer panoramic roof delete option. That big thing has to be a solid 100+lbs on the E63.

Latest info from BMW: launch of new M5 Competition. On some markets like Russia it will be the only option (since 99% customers purchase Merc E63s - the major competitor). Tech data: 625hp; new free flow exhaust (from steel, MPerformance will come up later with titanium option for extra €€€€); new suspension (-7mm, stiffer springs and recalibrated cinematics; all black styling; new light wheels which reduce the weight to ca.1.900kg.

        This makes no sense.

M5 is much lighter, and is making truly insane power...as far as I know, no stock E63 has put down numbers like the M5 has, right?

As someone said, aero might really start to play a role at higher speeds, frankly a tenth isn't much to consider when these cars are both so insanely quick...screwing up even a tiny bit could really throw you off.
