    • Renntech launches W222 S560 ECU tune for the M176 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 - +85 rwhp

      The M176 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 is a very interesting Mercedes tuning prospect. Why? Because it is a value version of the M177/M178 4.0 liter twin turbo V8's and will be utilized in more models.


      You will see the M176 phase out the M278 and this is great news. Those that buy 560 models such as the W222 S560 are essentially getting an AMG engine architecture at a discount.

      Not to mention the tuning potential. The S560 is rated at 463 horsepower by Mercedes-Benz. That is even slightly underrated according to Renntech's baseline:


      Now look at the tuned figures. 502 horsepower at the wheels with 552 lb-ft of torque at the wheels as well.

      A budget S63 AMG? Yes indeed! Look at the acceleration figures:
