    • GAD Motors 1200 hp C218 CLS63 AMG M157 vs. APR Stage 2 C7 RS6 4.0 TFSI Avant standing 1/2 mile

This is quite the mismatch on paper considering the GAD Motors built C218 Mercedes-AMG C63 is said to be making 1200 crank horsepower. GAD is known for some stout M157 builds and this one certainly hustles.

By contrast the APR tuned RS6 is on the factory 4.0 TFSI V8 turbochargers and the factory engine internals. This is a bolt on RS6 versus a full blown 5.5 liter AMG M157 build.

Yet... to the RS6's credit it makes this a race at least through the 1/4 mile thanks to its better launch. The RS6 gets to the 1/4 mile marker in 10.602 seconds compared to the CLS63 10.263 seconds. So, past the 1/8 the CLS63 is really gaining speed:

The 1/4 mile trap speed difference says it all. 143.38 mph for the CLS63 and 129.93 mph to the RS6.

At the 1/2 mile the difference is 178.95 mph for the CLS63 compared to 157.08 for the RS6.

The CLS63 is clearly faster but it also is in another stratosphere of modification cost. The RS6 does well for the mods it has. Now when are we going to see upgraded turbo 4.0 TFSI's kicking some ass?

These Russian (or whatever) drag race times should not be taken seriously. The numbers produced are consistently wildly erratic.

I agree. Simply look at them in the context of that event against each other.

They bear little bearing on real world 1/4 mile times.

Poor $ to performance ratio IMO.
