It works, is a great value, and has amazing support. Not to mention the established track record of years of successful results. You can not say the same about Race Chip.
The gentleman in the video bought a Race Chip GTS Black for his Audi S3 and said the car felt slower with it. Now, if you want to make that claim as the butt dyno can lie use a GPS meter and check the before and after numbers. Maybe put it on a dyno so you actually know what is going on. Do not rely on 'feel' as the sole metric.
He did call support and Race Chip said they would update the software through their app. Apparently, this did not help.
To be fair, we do have data posted showing their product working on various platforms. These are first hand promotional accounts though:
Race Chip GTS Black piggyback tuning results on a Porsche 991.1 Turbo S - +40 horsepower
RaceChip piggyback shows gains of 105 horsepower on a McLaren 570S M838T
Tuned Lamborghini Urus results by Race Chip, Mild piggyback tune gains - Before/after 100-200 kph results
RaceChip claims to get over 700 horsepower out of the new W213 Mercedes-AMG E63 S M177 V8 with their RaceChip GTS Black
The review does not prove the product does not work as they did not support their own claim with any evidence. Race Chip has provided results of their product working on various platforms. We know piggybacks work on the EA888 VW/Audi platforms. In the video the guy says he went to Integrated Engineering afterwards and it makes you wonder if this is not a propaganda piece slamming Race Chip for Integrated Engineering's gain or for a free product from Integrated Engineering.
BoostAddict recommends the JB4 for a reason. We have first hand experience with the product as well as the quality of support from BMS. It is the best tuning value in the business. Plus, they have a support infrastructure built into the forum. It will work as advertised.
Our own interactions with Race Chip have not been very productive and they do not seem to understand the American mentality of proving results on independent dynos and with independent 1/4 mile results. After a video like this one, they may want to rethink how they go about their American marketing presence.
