    • Tuned W212 Mercedes-AMG E63 M157 vs. supercharged BMW E92 M3 DCT

Some nice highway pulls here between two German V8's with very different power adders. The E92 M3 is well known with the S65 4.0 liter V8 that revs to 8400 rpm. The M157 in the E63 is larger at 5.5 liters and turbocharged but it is a stump puller with tons of torque and is hardly a high revver.

This is basically brute force versus high rpm efficiency. The E63 does of course carry another 700+ pounds depending on the trim. This could be either a RWD or 4Matic model, we do not know.

The E63 is said to have a Stage 2 M157 tune and the M3 has an ESS VT2-625 supercharger kit.

They do several pulls and it seems to depend on who gets the hit as to how it goes. The M3 wins a couple and so does the E63. The M3 does seem to have an advantage at higher speeds.
