    • 9-second M178 - PP-Performance tuned C190 AMG GT S is first to break into the 9's with 9.82@141.54 pass

You would think being the first 9-Second C190 AMG GT or M178 would come with bigger fanfare but PP-Performance did not do a good job highlighting this achievement. For one, where is the timeslip? Seriously, why in the world do we even need to ask for a slip when claiming a 1/4 mile record?

Not posting it is amateur hour stuff as is this low resolution video from the Middle East. They can buy luxury sports cars but 4K camcorders apparently are on embargo.

It is crazy to think Renntech was the first to break into the 10's almost four years ago on the the C190 AMG GT M178 platform but only now do we see a 9-second run.

As for the specs, make sense of this:

PP-Performance could desperately use someone who can market well and speak English.

The real question though, why aren't more people pushing this platform?

I’d even go as far as to say it’s not a record if it’s run at any of the cheating ME tracks. Is Yas even NHRA-certified currently?

To my knowledge they still are not officially NHRA certified.

I don't think they want to be. They want to play with the controls/times.

Exactly. And everyone knows it. IMHO nothing run at any of those tracks should even get the respect of a post.

That goes a bit overboard. We can question it and we certainly don't have to call it a record.

The problem is these guys pay big money to tuners and many of those tuners are here and want the runs and work they put in recognized.

Basically, their customers are buying records.

Nice to see a slip. While the M177 has been proven to be pretty much bullet proof, it seems that the DCT transmission and the ability to put the power down seems to be the weak links and why we have not seen more cars in the 9s.
There is now a C63 in the 9s as well.
