    Japanese Nuclear Meltdown???????????????????????

Here is a link about it: http://www.prisonplanet.com/japanese...t-unknown.html

The Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency (NISA) confirmed the meltdown Saturday afternoon. Fukushima is one of the 25 largest nuclear power stations in the world. The NISA is affiliated with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
High levels of cesium and iodine, by-products of nuclear fission, are being reported and providing more evidence that a nuclear meltdown is currently underway.
It is now certain Japan is experiencing a Chernobyl event. “At this point, events in Japan bear many similarities to the 1986 Chernobyl disaster. Reports indicate that up to 1.5 meters (4.9 feet) of the reactor fuel was exposed. The reactor fuel appears to have at least partially melted, and the subsequent explosion has shattered the walls and roof of the containment vessel – and likely the remaining useful parts of the control and coolant systems,” Stratfor explains.
“Given the large quantity of irradiated nuclear fuel in the pool, the radioactivity release could be worse than the Chernobyl nuclear reactor catastrophe of 25 years ago,” said Kevin Camps, a nuclear waste specialist.
Prior to the explosion of the containment structure, exposure rates outside the plant were at about 620 millirems per hour. Radiation exposure for the average individual is 620 millirems per year. Virtually any increase in ambient radiation can raise long-term cancer rates, and authorities distributed iodine, which helps protect against thyroid cancer, The Oregonian reports.
As the image above illustrates, the prevailing jet stream moves from Japan to the United States across the Pacific Ocean. Airborne radiation would work its way into the jet stream and reach the United States in less than 36 hours. Jet streams flow from west to east in the upper portion of the troposphere.
By downplaying this serious disaster, the Japanese government is not only endangering its own people, but also millions of people in the United States and Canada.
The cover-up by the Japanese government provides more evidence that government cannot be trusted to safeguard the lives of its citizens.

Some are saying this was caused by the solar flares from last week. Messing with the earth magnetic force, and core. That also could have caused the fish to swim all oddly as mentioned in the other thread. WEEeeeeeeeeeeee

I hope this is overblown, now I have to worry about radiation from Japan?

Why the $#@! didn't they flood the reactor or whatever they did with the other plants to prevent meltdown?

What I meant by interesting is that it seems that the government in Japan was down playing the issue this past weekend. I think they were trying to hide how f'd up everything was.

I thought this may be of some interest... Japan's little issue is
being classified as a level 6 by France... Here's a level 6, with no
real numbers on fallout, slash how many people were present, it was a
    closed city:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyshtym_disaster

In September 1957 the cooling system in one of the tanks containing
about 70–80 tons of radioactive waste failed, and the temperature in
it started to rise, resulting in a non-nuclear explosion of the dried
waste having a force estimated at about 70–100 tons of TNT, which
threw the concrete lid, weighing 160 tons, into the air.[2] There were
no immediate casualties as a result of the explosion, which released
    an estimated 2 to 50 MCi (74 to 1850 PBq ) of radioactivity.[1][3][4]

In the next 10 to 11 hours the radioactive cloud moved towards the
northeast, reaching 300–350 kilometers from the accident. The fallout
of the cloud resulted in a long-term contamination of an area of more
than 800 square kilometers, primarily with caesium-137 and
strontium-90.[1] This area is usually referred to as the East-Ural
    Radioactive Trace (EURT).[5]

Because of the secrecy surrounding Mayak, the population of affected
areas were not initially informed of the accident. A week later (on 6
October) an operation for evacuating 10,000 people from the affected
area started, still without giving an explanation of the reasons for
evacuation. People "grew hysterical with fear with the incidence of
unknown 'mysterious' diseases breaking out. Victims were seen with
skin 'sloughing off' their faces, hands and other exposed parts of
their bodies."[6] It was Zhores Medvedev who revealed the nature and
extent of the disaster to the world.

Even though the Soviet government suppressed information about the
figures, it is estimated that the direct exposure to radiation caused
at least 200 cases of death from cancer.[7]

To reduce the spread of radioactive contamination after the accident,
contaminated soil was excavated and stockpiled in fenced enclosures
that were called "graveyards of the earth".[8]

The Soviet government in 1968 disguised the EURT area by creating the
East-Ural Nature Reserve, which prohibited any unauthorised access to
    the affected area.

The level of radiation in Ozyorsk itself is claimed to be safe for
humans, but the area of EURT is still heavily contaminated with
    radioactivity.[7]

And the only level 7 to date:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chernobyl_disaster

The disaster began during a systems test on 26 April 1986 at reactor
number four of the Chernobyl plant, which is near the town of Pripyat.
There was a sudden power output surge, and when an emergency shutdown
was attempted, a more extreme spike in power output occurred, which
led to a reactor vessel rupture and a series of explosions. This event
exposed the graphite moderator components of the reactor to air,
causing them to ignite. The resulting fire sent a plume of radioactive
fallout into the atmosphere and over an extensive geographical area,
including Pripyat. The plume drifted over large parts of the western
Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, and Northern Europe.
Large areas in Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia were evacuated, and over
336,000 people were resettled. According to official post-Soviet
data,[1][2] about 60% of the fallout landed in Belarus.

Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus have been burdened with the continuing
and substantial decontamination and health care costs of the Chernobyl
accident. Fifty deaths, all among the reactor staff and emergency
workers, are directly attributed to the accident. Estimates of the
total number of deaths attributable to the accident vary enormously
(from possibly 4,000 to close to a million)[4][5]. Despite the
accident, Ukraine continued to operate the remaining reactors at
Chernobyl for many years. The last reactor at the site was closed down
    in 2000, 14 years after the accident.[6]

The nearby city of Pripyat was not immediately evacuated after the
incident; only after radiation levels set off alarms at the Forsmark
Nuclear Power Plant in Sweden,[36] over one thousand kilometers from
the Chernobyl Plant, did the Soviet Union admit that an accident had
occurred. Nevertheless, authorities attempted to conceal the scale of
the disaster. For example, while evacuating the city of Pripyat, the
following warning message was read on local radio: "An accident has
occurred at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. One of the atomic
reactors has been damaged. Aid will be given to those affected and a
committee of government inquiry has been set up." This message gave
the false impression that any damage or radiation was localized.

A friend sent this to me.

They didn't want that information to be used against them during the Cold War which would scare the people in the countries they were trying to control, etc. It was all about maintaining the illusion of power. The United States has probably done who knows what. The government has no problems blatantly lying to you especially when it includes anything nuclear, look up project Azorian.
