really interesting read. I'd still buy a gt2rs over a 458 Click here to enlarge but then again, I love ferarris, but this certain article helps me understand their marketing a little better. You have to remember that they do not advertise like other companies do, so this is their way I guess. Shady.

Ferrari thinks they are doing you a favor by letting you buy their cars.

Ferrari has been like this for a long time. They try to distort and bend the rules to their favor in all of their operations. They do it with their road cars and race cars. But I guess that's what happens when you are the maker of the most desired cars in the world.

They do actually. Dealerships routinely tell people they can't get on lists until they buy an "old" car at a marked up value.

Thats not true. The only car they have done this for was the Enzo. You needed to own at least one ferrari before ordering an Enzo.

Was true when I was at the dealership and tried to get on the F430 list. Dealer said we needed to get in a 360 first. This is a well known practice at Ferrari dealerships so yes, true.

You are always welcome to pay over sticker for a new car they have in stock.

They can do what they like, really don't give a sh*t. Doesn't change the fact the 458 is f*cking pure win.

that's true, another thing is if you want to buy new cars you should sell your old car to them and also cheaper.

Usually, yes, unless you have previous business with that dealer.

Interesting, pretty much since Ferrari has made such a name that it doesn't really matter what they do people will still buy them, just like apple :/.

A little history lesson between Lamborghini and Ferrari for you people, and since the founders names are the same as the company might seem kind of confusing haha.

Lamborghini the founder use to own a Ferrari way back in the day but had some problems with the clutch. So he went to some get together where Ferrari, the founder was and told him about his clutch problem and what he should do. Ferrari the found said "You should just be glad that you're driving a Ferrari." Lamborghini got upset and left and said he would make his own car company. That was the last time those two ever spoke.

    Pretty crazy I thought nonetheless.

Tell me about it, if someone ever said that to you you would never imagine that they would end up being your greatest competitor.
