Z06 are insane...best bang for the buck in performance. Almost bought one but the build quality and the feel just isnt there. I pray GM makes the C7 even better in those areas...closer to the CTS-V. Once it can excel in those areas it will truly be an amazing deal. Z06 w/ CTS-V interior = Click here to enlarge

holy $#@!, that is damn quick! I wonder how they will do against the new GTRs ? Supposedly, the new ones do 0-60 low 3s, and with a professional, even 2.9s are attainable o_O

That is because launch control is back, 0-60 isn't going to tell you the story from a roll.

Yeah, c6 z is just plain strong. When I pulled one with my last setup I realized how fast the car was. I had a smile on my face for about a month until I found out the motor failed (not from the race, it was built wrong).

Having the wrong clearances in the motor can be building it wrong....

Bearing and ring clearances are the 2 main ones i see people do... then you have people over torquing cam caps that cause ware on the cams which eventually destroys them...

On another note, this race does not surprise me... Z06's trap 124-126 stock some have seen higher but that seems to be the average.. the stock GTR's ive seen are anywhere from 118-121...

Trusted the wrong shop when I was pressed for time, they ignore all my specs I gave them, they gap rings on a forged piston to stock specs, then completely forget to install the oil squirters. I knew something was wrong around 800 miles, pulled it apart at 1000. maybe had another 1-2k in her which show how freekin strong these motors are.

Aside from that there is still a million ways to build a motor wrong. Wrong machining, taking incorrect measurements, not following correct bolt/nut tightening specs or sequence, incorrect ring filing. Thats not even getting to the head. I mean there is a host of ways to fvck it up, and ussually when you get it wrong during the build it goes really wrong really fast!

Thing is a set of 6 tiny parts all amounting to $60 total not being installed cause the main failure. Now, the ring gap was too tight being at stock specs for my power/boost level but I still would have gottin many miles out of it.
