Stop running your mouth. I was there and he ran what he ran. Spit all the numbers you want, his car is friggin fast! Why are you comparing your dyno queen to a real car anyway? your sn says 600whp S4 yet you only make 480whp? That is friggin HILARIOUS! Peak dyno numbers mean nothing gimme power under the curve

WOW insane #s guys!!!! thats crazy off juice

dont mean this as a put down but the 60-130 of 8.2 seems very slow for a 10.9@130mph car.

Trust me it's the 2 shifts from the 7G, you can do it quicker with 1 shift but these guys were 1/4 mile racing not really shooting for 60-130. Eliminating one shift is approx a .4 difference in these cars.

not trying to say your wrong, but my head thinks you trying to get as fast thru the 1/4 as fast as possible and the 60-130 is included in that....

if it took 10.9 to get to 130.xx then 10.9 - 8.2 is 2.7 to 60? (obviously not perfect but that would be close no?)

And thats crazy your saying it takes .4 seconds for each shift with this tranny??

I guess its just hard for me to think that it take 8.2 for 60-130 when it traps 130 at 10.9. I just can wrap my head around it. I mean my m3 ran high 8s from 60-130 on bald tires more like a low 8 second car there but trapped the max of 123. I know the tranny is faster but still...seems wierd to me.

not questioning, just wondering and trying to understand

I want to say that the shift doesn't take .4 to complete but it literally adds .4 to a 60-130 run, we know this from data obtained from the vbox vs runs with 1 shift vs 2 on the same car same section of road etc, you're seeing the culmination of shift time at a speed where there is significant aero drag + loss of momentum on shift + dropping back down the powerband post shift. Additionally the reason this ends up being such a big diff is because of the way the C63 is geared, at 60mph you're 200rpm from redline in 2nd gear, and at 130 you're in 5th gear unless in manual mode so you can hold 4th. Typically when shooting for 60-130 in a 63 AMG you want to be in 3rd gear manual mode to start (skip 2-3 shift) click off one shift and hold 4th through 130mph (200rpm from redline). That and this trans is definitely no DSG.

Look, you have to keep in mind the weather, the setup, and what track this is.

Remember, MIR in the winter is fast (likely the fastest strip in the USA) and this is not outside the realm of possibility.

Don't expect to mirror these results yourself say in higher elevation or in the summer.

And before you try to run your mouth and say replicate your heads get it right pal I asked you if you hand ported your heads or had a 7 axis cnc them. All I said is that I had a open 7 axis. so get your story straight. And we machine heads for boat motors.
Bud, MIR is where Z06's run 10's stock.

The Z06 in reality is not a 10 second car at any other track or any time other than in the winter with a great driver at MIR.

This was a great job of driving and using the elements to one's advantage. That is what it is, no 600 whp witchcraft just like none in the Z06 run.

Was this on pump gas, or with race gas and lots of ignition timing advance? I'm still in shock at how fast this thing is with 4100lbs. I've seen similar weight 700whp+ cars with nice tires runs slower!

I was told race gas and the appropriate tuning to compliment it by MHP.

It all makes sense once it is put in context. What really shows you how impressive this really is happens to be those who are shocked and denying it. Goes to show just how big this is. I admit, I am blown away by the result as well.

This has been promoted to the front page, we need the Vbox graph ASAP. Is the Vbox run a new record as well?

Also, I'm not at my own comp so I can't edit the slip to flip it, Andy if you can repost it that would help me or I will just update it when I get back to my computer.
