2 primary just aft of the manifolds and 2 secondary further down stream before the "resonator".

    thanks for all the info!

makes me wonder why cars like the GT3 only have 2 cats (400 cell) and the Turbo has 2 cats (600 cell thou but supposedly a very very clean emissions car) but cars like the M3 and C63 have 4 cats (400 cell) cats? would they still pass CA emissions reading with 2 (400 cell) cats?

May have something to do with the engine layout.

mthis passed NY emissions with our off-road tuning and headers/mids a few weeks ago lol.

It's a real test, not a tailpipe sniffer either.

You will pass CA emissions with a catted set of our headers. They do munch about 20HP though.

It is illegal to replace or delete any cat from a vehicle in CA. If you do replace a cat it has to be the exact oem replacement cat for it to be legal. Having said this it is also illegal to drive in CA without a front license plate which people still do all the time here....

Glad they haven't made it illegal to own a V8 in California yet.

A real test for obd2 cars in NY is just a plug into the obd port and that's it. Did he really do the emissions dyno like the old cars do?

FYI, as of January 1st they are doing away with dyno emissions here in NY. Any car below 1995 now just gets a visual and a sticker. No sniffer no nothing.

I honestly think the C63 sounds perfect from the factory. I have heard some not so pleasent sounding exhaust setups on C63's.

They seem to get raspy pretty easily.

I was looking at zr1's and they are going for around 105k new now after the GM 15k rebate. But I see used they are still listed around 99-103....hmmmmmm

Are they actual cats on the C63? I know on my car when I removed them they didn't have a honeycomb. They looked more like resonators.

    Found out Member Easy2Speed on 6speedonline ran a 9.42 with 1-shift in his bone stock 2010 CTS-V on a 1.6% decline. Car is a 6speed sedan.

Thats pretty fast for stock. im sure with a tune, CAI, Mufflers on stock cats it could be in the 8's. Then with a pulley and cat delete high 7's

That's pretty reasonable estimation I would say.

If you are looking mostly for performance potential, due to the forced induction on the CTS-V it wins out IMO.

What are the pulley-ed v's putting down to the ground? It would be interesting to compare power to weight of the modded v to the modded sl tt(5.5, 6.0)....

not sure to the ground but here D3 Cadillac has pulleys and says

    Stage 1: [PN# 5101500] 9.0in will net approx (depending on vehicle base conditions) +3PSI ( 30HP)
    Stage 2: [PN# 5101501] 9.5in will net approx (depending on vehicle base conditions) +6PSI ( 50HP)
Stage 3*: [PN# 5101502] 9.0in Lower Pulley + 2.55in Upper Pulley will net approx (depending on vehicle base conditions) 16.6 PSI (150+ HP)
Stage 4*: [PN# 5101503] 9.5in Lower Pulley + 2.55in Upper Pulley will net approx (depending on vehicle base conditions) 19.5 PSI (200+ HP)
*Competition use only! Requires installation of competition motor components and preparations and D3 trained installation professionals.
