A Black Series SLS camshaft & valvetrain would be nicer w/ remap DME/EGS/TCU + 8000rpm rev limit. Cams has shown to make 680ps @ expense of higher motor rev in the AMG dyno, but like anything else with green emmissions it's set at 620ps. Any camshaft spec can always be measured by any cam company, if it has a complete cylinder head & valve train at it's location =)

Why did nobody use the SLS heads to complete it?

Reason I'm partially asking is me wondering of the SLS Black Series M159 cams/valvetrain will be possible as a standard M159 retrofit.

Yes but my question is can the Black Series camshaft be put into the standard M159?

Yes. Will it make more power, no. Is it worth perusing as is, no.

Earl is right, there was no advantage to going with the SLS cams without the entire SLS top end. I had them in my car, the car ran and I even ran at the track with them but after further R&D by Weistec we decided they were hurting more than they were helpin, at least with the stock heads and the Weistec heads. oe, if they offered an advantage they would still be in my car.

PM me an offer. They were used for about 100 miles and a couple days of dyno pulls for tuning.

Why would it not make more power if you are revving to 8000 versus 7200?

This what I am saying, the cams and the valvetrain. So the cams of course are designed for higher RPM.

I'm really stoked about the Black Series M159 if you can't tell.

How do you know what we are reving to? Trust me it did not work to maximum performance.

Are you going to try to buy an SLS BS? They should be able to be ordered any day now so if you want one you better find a dealership thqt is getting an ordering slot, only 50 coming to the US. Most are already acounted for, AMG implemented a new process for handing out allocations that helps ensuremonly enthusiests and good customersmcan get their hands on them. Go to PL and check out the thread I started today when I got some info from my dealer, William Vetter chimed in and explained the ordering process and said dealers can not order cars, dealers are selected by AMG then they are notified when they can enter an order.

I'm speaking of what the M159 in the Black Series is revving to versus the standard M159.

No. I'm asking about retrofitting the M159 Black Series top end to the standard M159.
