Teaching him to listen to commands is a $#@!. He kind of listens to sit when he wants to. I want to teach him to shake hands...

Take him to puppy training class when he's old enough...

I need to do the puppy training class. This guy is so damn stubborn. He knows the sit command already but only does it when he wants to.

It's going to be a pain to teach him. Trying to get him to go on a walk was a pain in the butt.

How often do you take him out? Your only about a month in. A puppy needs a lot of attention. I remember waking up in the morning having to clean $#@! and piss in his crate. Thought it would never end. Just have to be persistent on taking him out often.

The way you talk about your tank sounds exactly how I felt having been my first dog and never had one before.

Especially when you mention that he knows the tricks your teaching him but refuses to listen. Just have to realize that although intelligent they will do what they want .... Unless a treat is involved. This is just my experience and am no expert.

He sleeps with me and he won't go where he sleeps. He holds it well until he wakes me up in the morning.

He spends most of his time outside because of the potty training issue.

I give him a treat when he goes outside. He knows already that he shouldn't go inside as the last time he did I found him hiding under a table. So he gets that it is wrong but I guess he doesn't understand how to ask to go outside yet.

Sounds like your doing good so far. It only will get easier.

Btw wish my tank was brindle colored like yours. Good color combination.

His color combo is what made me want to get him. Then I played with him and I was sold.

I think Rupbert is a good name for a dog - but my g/f disagrees. She also thinks I misspell it with the P, but I throw in the P for good measure. A ridiculously over the top English name for a cool English dog. Can't beat it.

He has an accident sometimes but he's got 'potty' outside pretty much down.

Plus it's not like I'd leave pee on a marble floor. I'd clean it up.

Well sometimes you don't always see it...

Seems like he's a quick learner too which is good. Get him some shift paddles so he can practice and me might be able to shift your DCT.
