    A shift in A45/CLA45/GLA45 AMG M133 engine tuning? GAD Motors claims that have cracked and can flash the M133 ECU

    The 45 AMG models are becoming a very popular tuning platform. Up until this point the majority of tuning has been piggyback based as no tuner had access to the encrypted engine control unit (ECU). This includes our own tuners on BenzBoost such as Renntech using a piggyback tune as well as Eurocharged. There certainly is nothing wrong with a piggyback unit as that style of tuning dominates the BMW turbo market and as a recent tune comparison on the M133 showed the cars definitely are showing some strong numbers.

    Why is this a big deal? Because it means a tuner finally has access to the ECU. This means more parameters can be modified but it also likely means that the dealer will know the car was tuned. GAD Motors is showing some strong numbers as the dynograph below indicates 427 horsepower at the crank which is inline with the other Stage I piggyback tunes on the market. They do not provide a baseline however so it is difficult to gauge the before and after numbers.

    This is a major step forward for the platform if accurate and we would like to see more details from GAD Motors on this development. It will also be interesting to see if this 'crack' trickles out to the rest of the AMG tuning community.

    These guys are on fire lately, their E63s seem to be some of the fastest, now this. Didn't know these were encrypted, but good to see that they've (hopefully) cracked it.

    Awesome work by GAD these guys are killing it and IMO most under rated tuner out there. Graph looks good this motor/turbo is some piece fully spooling by 2500 rpm and making peak torque all the way to 5300 rpm. Power seems to hold up well up top for a turbo motor where its usually nose diving at that point. big news with the ecu being cracked is now well see upgraded turbo cars with control of the ECU and E85 fueling !

    I heard rumors about the possibly to get the A45 ECU flashed by some other (unknown German tuner, don't remember the name now) from a friend 1 or 2 months back already... However until now I heard as well (from RENNtech Germany), that the results with proper piggy back systems have been better so far Click here to enlarge
    Obviously there are still some big problems with getting some limiters up in the software...
    When I compare the posted GAD software results to the best results I've seen on http://www.aclassclub.co.uk/ from RENNtech test car Stage 1+ that makes sense... so power seems to be similar but a piggyback can obviously make more torque mid range...
    But yeah, I am positive once more time is spent on R&D from GAD, RENNtech, Rebellion and so far, we will see some 500hp + on the M133 soon Click here to enlarge

    Hopefully I read this correctly but, Evo 8's and 9's are unencrypted.

    It may be that a piggyback and flash are combined to get the best result.

    Is it a Simens ECU or Bosch? As far as I knew, Bosch ECU's were more easily de-crypted no?

    I heard from RENNtech that they have a flash solution as well... However they are not happy until now. Obviously mid-range torque and power can be even better with piggy?! They already had 435hp and 566Nm already last year... Click here to enlarge
