I'd be satisfied with $3 billion. It's enough to get by.

I'd sell out for billions too. I'd do it for less.

This is all that you need to do this day in age. You could make the most absolute POS thing in the world, but advertise it well with a brand name and there you have it. People will buy anything for the name rather than the product.

They are absolutely terrible speakers - they really are. For the price, there are much better choices - but people see big fat cables and huge drivers, and think "oh, these must be good - plus everyone has them", so they are super popular. I am pretty sure someone (could have been me) posted awhile back on the site on the components used, and they were extremely cheap. Looking at any audiophile reviews, you can see this "proven" - they just aren't worth 200 dollars.

I think what we are seeing from Apple is the start of the downfall; I used to consider Apple to use high quality components in their engineering - and now it's going to be like HP claiming they have "boost" technology for their laptops. Is it better than stock/crappy speakers? Yeah. Is it worth 3.2 billion for Apple to spend? No.

I am thinking they will start putting these in phones/headsets/computers - and maybe they will actually up the quality from what it is today (garbage), but still - that's an expensive buy.

In a publishing by the WSJ, Apple paid around 500 million for the Beats music subscription service and 2.5 billion for Beats electronics.
In 2013, Beats sales totaled close to 1.3 billion all from electronic units.

"Prior to being acquired, Beats had several partnerships with other brands, including companies that are direct competitors with Apple. Most notable is Hewlett-Packard, which uses Beats Audio branding and technologies in its product lineup. AT&T has an exclusive deal with Beats Music to sell subscriptions and an unlimited music downloading family plan, and design firm Ammunition has a partnership to create Beats products. Even HTC has been in the mix"
