I have done the Blue Ridge, Skyline Drive and Tail of the Dragon and they were incredible drives as long as you don't mind the risk of getting several speeding tickets. Tail of the dragon was an incredible experience, seeing videos does not do it justice. The amount of car control required, the shear number of hairpins and the elevation changes was awesome. The roads listed are cool and all but aside from being able to rent a capable sports car in several European cities and make the rounds I doubt I will experience many of them. If you are east coast or near the tail of the dragon make the trip, just have your balls strapped on real tight if you plan on attacking it with any real speed!

Did Stelvio last year, it was only in a diesel Golf rental, but thought it was overrated. Also had way too many bicyclists and tourists to go fast (even Golf level fast).

Not sure why it's stated you have to drive them before you're 30.
Just be sure you do not have kids in the backseat when you do drive 'em you're fine Click here to enlarge

Nice video add. And no clue why they say before you are 30 - I've already forgotten everything from before I was 30, so that would have been a pisser Click here to enlarge

If you are ever back in the Pikes Peak region, let me know and we'll meet up at the Broadmoor to drink some wine!

Mate, I overdid it last night on my Pat Malone, way too much.. ended up doing 2 bottles red... so sick and I have to trade ... meh.. still I have the next 4 days with zero alcohol

Ha! That is one of the worst things about wine - after I open a bottle, I hate to leave it open and/or let it go to waste. So it is very binary - you either open it and drink it, or don't open it Click here to enlarge I would have done the same thing after opening the second bottle. That's one of the reasons I like drinking whiskey now too - it's not a big deal to drink just a bit and put the cork back in.

But living as much as I can right now! : )

Will definitely try to plan some trips around these...tough with a kid - don't want to be an absent father.
