Mercedes-Benz intends to bring the $200,000+ G65 AMG to the US market

Does the American car market need a 600+ horsepower 6.0 liter V12 twin turbo SUV weighing 5687 pounds? Honestly, that sounds pretty American. The G65 AMG is already available for sale in other parts of the world but head of AMG Tobias Moers confirmed the absolutely insane AMG G-Wagon will come to the USA. The only hold up at the moment seems to be passing the US crash safety regulations and as long as there is no hiccup we should be good to go.

Moers stated, "If the airbags work then we’re good. If we have to move a steering column or something, forget about it.” It is not 100% definite yet but considering Mercedes has never had a problem with the G55 AMG or the current G63 AMG the G65 should be fine.

Expect the 612 horsepower and 737 pound-feet of torque G65 AMG next year in the $200,000.00 range. Think it won't sell at that price point? The best selling AMG in the United States is the $137,700.00 G63 AMG. That's America for you.

A Tuned G63 with upgraded turbos from Weistec will rape it. No need to pay 200K for this garbage. Just get a G63 and upgrade it

The 65 motor doesnt have the same potential as the M157 or the M156. Visit dragtimes.com bro. V12 engines arent the fastest when modified

Brang in on, dawg. Supply and demand, b!tches. That's how it works.

And if they don't sell - like C Class Estates - too bad for the U.S. market.

But, just 'cause some of us can't afford one (like me).........need one -again, like me - be a dick about it? I think not.

    He gone!

Well this literally made my day. I will own one of these at some point. Guaranteed. This might be the most FU car ever created in the history of the automobile. And I love it for that.

Yeah true. At least that thing is designed for off-road domination. So far as I can tell, this car is designed to be...pointless. And will be bought by 19 year old trust fund wannabe "models" in LA so they can crawl around the sprawl at 22 mph while chugging Starbucks, blowing lines off the Designo leather, and screaming into their phones. Which means I must clearly buy one and use it correctly. Not sure what correctly would be but I could find out.

I bet they'd be overjoyed to help you if they knew. Actually, when I think about the MB sales GM at the dealer near me, I bet they'd be more than happy to.
