    Eurocharged W212 E63 AMG M157 ECU tune only before/after dynograph - +120 wheel horsepower

Mercedes enthusiasts and automotive performance enthusiasts in general should know by now that the AMG M157 twin turbo V8 is incredibly tunable. That is what having twin turbos from the factory does for you. Additionally, having the largest twin turbo V8 out of the German OEM's at 5.5 liters. The W212 E63 AMG is very powerful in stock form showing 472.5 horsepower to the wheels. What does it do after Eurocharged gets its hands on it?

592 horsepower to the wheels. As this is a pre-facelift W212 E63 model that is to the rear wheels and not all four. That is a gain of 119.5 wheel horsepower which we will just round up to 120. With additional bolt on modifications and race gas 600+ at the wheels sure looks within reason. Keep in mind those numbers vary based on the type of dyno used. This particular graph is on a Dyno Dynamics with an unknown correction factor but the ~600 whp range is well within the realm of expectations on your local friendly Dynojet.

Great gains here from Eurocharged and combined with their well known aggressive pricing their tune makes for one of the best performance values in the M157 aftermarket.

That is flipping incredible when you consider price.... I also found this old article

Eurocharged M157 W212 E63 AMG tune only track results - 11.3@128 pump gas tune only

Very, very nice results here on an M157 bi-turbo W212 E63 AMG equipped only with a Eurocharged M157 tune. This tune is for a pump gas 91 octane setup so not a high octane race file. The car did however mix in some MS109 race gas which likely gave some timing benefit. 1/4 tank of 91 octane pump gas with 5 gallons of MS109. Filters are K&N just for full disclosure. The result at the Famoso drag strip in California? 11.378@128.26 on street tires.

The 60 foot time of 1.945 shows this is a 10 second capable car with the proper drag rubber, tune only. In stock form (this is a non-performance package car) the owner was able to run a 11.985@118.050 so the tune provides another 10 mph of trap speed.

    Pretty impressive for
software that can be had for $999 this month, eh?

Yes, very impressive considering the price. As I said for M157 tuning it's probably the best value.

    @Jake@Eurocharged.com

Sorry, I know but couldn't find it here

Its amazing how CHEAP used AMG 65, SL600, CL600 V12 turbos are and now even 2 year old V8 5.5 Biturbos - definitely great value for a fast straight line car

Can get a CL65 AMG 2005 for $30k and less............... sick cheap for a $190k new car that with a tune goes 3.6 s 0-60 in armchair comfort

No-one wants to pay for the service of a V12.... but seriously there are cars with 22k, 30k miles and less going for less than the price of the engine................

Maybe we could all look at buying a few 600's............ cannibalize the engines and then build some "Caterham" like ultra light weight rocket ship.............. in fact I might look at it as a project..........

It would be interesting to look into the maintenance and reliability of the motors. I know the coil packs seem to be an area of concern.

The V12 motors have actually proven solid with the standard maintenance you'd expect from a Euro car. I owned one with virtually no issues at all. The airmatic suspension is an area if concern, big shock.
They can easily make over 600hp with bolt ons.

Realistically how will these transmission hold up to the power, especially with all that torque?

I think with bolt ons you should be fine. It's when you upgrade the turbos and boost the torque big time that I'd start to worry.
