Spyvideo and phtotos of the C190 AMG GT doing testing of the electronic locking rear differential in harsh winter conditions
Get used to seeing spyphotos of the highly anticipated Mercedes-Benz AMG GT. This photo set is one of the best yet clearly showing off the rear hatch design and proportions. The car is coming along quite nicely and is a very sleek design. The video gives a slight hint of the M177/M178 V8 exhaust note but considering the snow coming down and the icy road the test driver obviously is not able to get on the gas due to the conditions.
It looks like Mercedes is testing the Winter traction here and the differential. The car is expected to feature AMG's trick new electronically controlled locking rear differential. This system allows variable locking under acceleration and deceleration. This system also benefits safety in low traction situations like you here caused by the road conditions by reducing the vehicles yaw around its vertical axis. Additional traction and safety provided by the differential means Mercedes can keep the car lighter without having to add all wheel drive.

Now that looks better, it's got a bit of a curve in the boot at the bottom, the previous pictures made the boot look so flat and awkward.
