Anyone running cutouts BEFORE the cats?

I was wondering if anyone had experience with running cutouts before the cats? I am still awaiting delivery of my 2003 s600 and I was playing with this idea. Is it possible to move the factory cats back a little (if necessary) and fit in a pair of electronic cutouts right after the turbos?

I don't see why you couldn't run a cutout before the cats. That said, why not ditch the cats with a proper exhaust?

Good place to start would be to remove the primaries for downpipes and just keep the secondary cats with the resonator. Probably have to speak with a tuner to make sure your A/F doesnt get thrown off. If anything I would do the cut outs before the secondary cats. That way you can keep your daily driven sound then get loud when you want it.

Exactly. You can always keep the secondaries.

Mainly because I live in AZ where I have to do emissions testing.

Isn't emission testing done electronically for you now?
