What exactly is the problem? Is it still cheaper than any other AMG?

Have already done it a couple times. Like I said a well optioned CLA45 is mid $50k. If want to go crazy you can, but it is not needed.

    Cirrus white
    Red calipers
    Aluminum trim
    Premium package
    Multi media package
    Heated seats
    AMG drivers package

    $56k

lol, a 100% fully optioned out C63 AMG is the SAME PRICE as a fully optioned CLA45AMG, now does that make sense? Hell, you can add navigation to the C63 and actually walk away for $5k less....so like I said, you can get away with a CLA45 for maybe $40 ish and it will be less euipped than every other similarly priced car in its class. Well equipped it's about $60k well more than every car in its class. Fully loaded it's the same price or more than its own makes' next class up....yeah...it's a joke. Brilliant by MB though I'm sure they're making absolute bank off of it.

Sure that's probably the most common, but add the leather interior and a real set of AMG wheels and you're already over $60k, then all other stuff like parking assist, blindspot detection, and pretty much every "standard" option on all of the other models you pay out the ass for on the CLA...at $56k like I said it is still less equipped than all other cars in its class and already more expensive, then you add the options that actually make it the reason you buy a benz and it's just not worth it.

And that's my point...sure you can get the price down closer to what other performance sedans go for, but then it's so basic and optionless why are you even buying a Benz?

How about a Lexus IS too? Honestly I agree with consumer reports, there just isn't much reason to buy the car unless you just want the name. What does it have that these others don't?

LOL at saying it's a "turbo'd" luxury car, ok...turbo big $#@!ing deal, it's also only 4 cylinders...are you of all people going to add a bunch of value to a car because it has a turbo? That's laughable
Chevy SS, Taurus, G37. I wouldn't drive any of those. But I will admit, I can be a car snob.

Don't believe so, but it's still a good trans, and still is just as fast or quicker depending on what mods you do, so who cares?

How is a fully optioned C63 the same price? The C63 gets up to $90k so WTF are you talking about?

Is the C63 still a good buy at $90k?

Well there ya go, that's my point there. Just paying for the emblem. I just don't get why not buy a C class though? For similar options they are the same price. OR better idea, why not buy a BMW 3 or 4 series? LOL

The AMG performance package includes the black 19 AMG wheels. The MBTex/alcantara with contrasting red stitching is better than leather.

It isn't basic. It has all the lastest tech with that build. Minus leather (if you want it). All other $#@! is comestic bullsh*t.

    19 wheels
    Heated seats
    Harmon Kardon
    XM radio
    Rear camera
    Naviation
    80HD hard drive

I would drive a Vette. Is that paying for an emblem?

    I would rather have a 320i than a CLA250.

Have you seen what the Vette costs and the extent they go to in order to minimize the cost? You aren't paying a badge premium.

What? C63 AMG sedan fully loaded $73k

    CLA45AMG fully loaded $72k

That's every option except rear seat entertainment and wifi which are both not offered in the CLA.

Porsche is awful about options, everyone knows this, but those two cars are nowhere near the same, but the point is still the same, thanks for adding another example

I think the CLA is a cool little car. I drove a non AMG and it was a nice cheap people pusher with a lot of style (for the $$$) The DCT was a let down though...esp after getting used to a BMW DCT. Unless I was doing something wrong, there was no way to have full control - it would still shift itself at the top and bottom of the range. Of course, I didn't expect M performance in a $30k FWD car...but I was just underwhelmed.

Because there is no better option. This is the only car that offers what was stated for the price. It's a mini Panamera.
