The Porsche 911 is rear engined. It always has been. It always will be. Some people need to come to terms with it I guess.

After you read that, let's see if you'll be a man and post a public apology to me.
So you are showing me evidence that my statement was correct? The C7 was not provided for the 2013 Best Driver's Car comparo. Therefore could not have won the Best Driver's Car comparo.

    Here's my painfully honest confession.

I really want a "Nissan GTR Sedan".
I even tried to get AMS to build me a G37x sedan with a Alpha9 GTR drivetrain.
AMS told me just to buy the E63, and that's why I'm on this forum and started looking at AMGs.
I don't like the transmission, size and weight of the E63. I prefer the size, weight and look of the W205 C-Class.
Then, I started hearing about the 2015 C63 with AWD, DCT, and a V8 TT.
I was stoked to FINALLY get what I consider to be a "GTR Sedan" and what I thought would be the "one car solution for daily driving" that I was looking for.

The more I hear about the possibility of the 2015 C63 not getting AWD and/or DCT, the more my hopes are crushed.

I might be willing to accept a MCT.
But, if the C63 doesn't get AWD, I am just going to keep my G37x sedan and add another new Corvette with a 7spd stick, Z51, MSRC, ECS supercharger, and headers.
I really wanted ONE awesome year round daily driver and I didn't want to continue running a 2 car solution for my daily driving.
But, it seems splitting daily driving duty between BOTH a AWD Infiniti sedan AND a Hi-Po Corvette seems to be the best choice for their specific performance in their separate and dedicated roles. The reliability, ease of maintenance, and cost of both makes the decision even easier.

I'm just really bummed out if the NO DCT and NO AWD rumors are true for the W205 C63.

My PM is always available when people wanna take drama to private messages where it belongs, instead of taking a thread off topic.

Such a huge annoyance if there will be no AWD for it. Why in the world they would decide not use the AWD is truly beyond me. The %age of AMG's in the North East being sold as 4matic is amazing... how can they not see the demand. So sad.

So, 911 Turbo, GTR, and Twin Turbo Gallardos are for pu$$ies?
    OK, pal.

Logic like this means as a sport bike rider, and racer, I can say that all you car guys are a joke because it takes 10 times the talent and skill pilot a bike than it does to sit in a car seat and turn a wheel.
Sure, I want my road course cars and weekend toys to remain RWD. I love overteer. But, a daily driven luxury sedan on STREET tires that has to deal with varied road conditions should have PERFORMANCE tuned AWD.
    End of conversation.

Now to steer the ship back on topic....

I love the MB brand. It has never wronged me (yet). I've modded 2 of my AMGs to great success (562whp E55 and 550whp C63) to what I wanted out of them. I will wait until 2016 and compare my options of the E63S and or the C63. By then I should know what to avoid in both models.

I do not mind missing out on a DCT transmission and I know there are both pros and cons to that. I know AMG has a reason for everything in the big picture.

The all wheel drive is debatable for me. I would love to have it but I've dealt with traction issues in all my vehicles I've been driving since I've been modding (all have been RWD). And i've also seen the limitations (torque limiters) in the AWD models (E63S)

For me the biggest win so far is the addition of the turbo to these motors. I cant wait to get my hands on either one right now...

Thats funny you mention that. I would imagine 99% of C63 drivers aren't really trying to drift around corners on a track or side street. Canyon runs are fun, believe me I know...except when you fall off the canyon.

I drive a RWD Turbo 900WHP IS300 with every suspension upgrade you can possibly think of. I know exactly what RWD power feels like and "how to drive it". I can also tell you, with that RWD car, I can't move more than 6 inches in 1inch of snow should it happen to snow. I've gone out for a drive when its perfectly clear out... park, then come outside to see there's an inch of snow on the ground and now I'm stranded. And this is not just limited to snow. I also have to soft pedal every-time it rains... this is even on all season tires.

What I'm looking for is a Daily driver here. I'm not looking for a side car that I drive on the weekends... I already have that. I went looking for a DD that could move relatively quickly and be able to drive in 95% of weather conditions. Have you driven these 4matic AMG's yet? I also drive my cousins E63 S-4Matic all the time. It handles amazing. No burn outs at every light when you want to hit it. Adjustable suspension settings which correlate with wheel slip as well. Driving that car, you can be at the limit and then some... and it'll still forgive you. Perfect for a daily driver whilst maintaining a VERY engaging feel. Being at the limit with a RWD car on the STREET... is a different story.

I've driven a LOT of fast cars. Power to power, I'd never pick RWD over AWD if I'm looking to go fast... even around a track. One false step in a RWD car and you're dunzo. AWD is so much more predictable and much easier to drive fast.

Again, for an engaging feel... you're really not losing a lot going AWD. You can ask any modified EVO or GTR driver about that and hopefully you'll understand... but what you're gaining, is so much more in safety and practicality.

Why would you only have one car then that would leave you stranded? Shouldn't you know this before you build a 900 whp IS300? It doesn't change anything regarding the fun factor, weight, and balance elements though.

Of course it handles well. Is it as fun as say a 911 GT3? Nope.

If you like under steer and safety nets by all means AWD seems to be for you. Makes me wonder why you have a RWD car to begin with.

Why would I need to ask anyone else what I like? Safety, practicality, under steer, more weight on the nose, higher drivetrain losses, inability to power on oversteer, and simply less fun.

You are a 911 turbo guy. I'm a GT3 guy. Good thing there are plenty of options for different tastes.

You need to go out in the snow to figure this out?

LOL, I was simply giving you an example. Its happened.

Why would you only have one car then that would leave you stranded? Shouldn't you know this before you build a 900 whp IS300? It doesn't change anything regarding the fun factor, weight, and balance elements though.

I have a '14 E350 4Matic daily driver that I'm looking to upgrade from. Thats not to say that I don't take my IS out during some days in the winter. Keep it garaged 4 months out of the year? What a waste of good pastrami.

Of course it handles well. Is it as fun as say a 911 GT3? Nope.
If you like under steer and safety nets by all means AWD seems to be for you. Makes me wonder why you have a RWD car to begin with.

Makes me wonder why you're buying a Benz lol.

Why would I need to ask anyone else what I like? Safety, practicality, under steer, more weight on the nose, higher drivetrain losses, inability to power on oversteer, and simply less fun.

Its a pretty ridiculous statement inferring that since its RWD it has to be more fun. LP570's, RS4's and 6's, EVO's, all clearly are very engaging/fun cars.

    Fun is so relative... really....

What are you equating your fun factor with? Being at the limit and slipping out? I can understand that. By the way, the E63 S-4Matic does that all day when you get to its limits. It oversteers lol, not under... and you can also power through. I also mentioned the adjustable suspension settings which change slip as well.
Drivetrain losses of AWD? You're really talking like 5%. What is that, like 25hp lol? Peanuts.

If you feel the need for more power, an easy couple of thousand $ and you have a tune with an extra 150hp on this motor. Piece of cake.

99% of driving for people with these Benz's are NOT at the limit unless this is a weekend dedicated fast car. You do realize this, right?

Take a second and understand....In my situation, I have a monster side car. I'm looking for another car that's much more streetable for daily duty. I look to Benz, Audi and BMW to fill this void. Luxury and Speed in a 4 door fast car. Also remember, 99% of driving on the street (even if you have a ferrari or a gt2) is not going to be at the limit. You don't drift on turns when getting groceries or taking wifey out to dinner. My daily driving constitutes seldom "at the limit " driving. By at the limit, I mean breaking wheels loose. I like having the power on tap and moving like a bat out of hell when I want to. Do I put the gas all the way down when I have some open curvy roads? Absolutely.
By all means, I get what kind of driving you like. I like that style of driving too, but there's a time and a place. On the street with RWD? You're gambling. One day that tree on the side of the road might not agree with you. For me, this particular car's drivetrain being RWD is a let down.

You are a 911 turbo guy. I'm a GT3 guy. Good thing there are plenty of options for different tastes.

If I was in the market for a side/sunday car, the GT3RS is what I would've picked. If i'm in the market for a daily, I wouldn't pick either. I'd be looking for a Benz or an Audi. I don't have a problem at all with your preference for a "fun car" assuming its being used as your side car or your climate permits it for daily use. My only issue is that this really isn't the perfect DD car that I was hoping it would be. ESPECIALLY for the north east. I wish AMG would've continued the trend of implementing 4matic on all their AMG cars as they've been doing with much newly added success. If you're looking for the most engaging car, why pick a benz? Why not pick the M3 or GT3 Click here to enlarge .

I'm not saying they aren't engaging but the most engaging Gallardo is the Balboni edition which ditches the RWD. It's the car the Lamborghini test driver said he wanted to build, what does that tell you?

Mercedes did a great job with the 4Matic but you're still going to experience understeer and not be able to whip the tail out the same way as you would a rear wheel drive car. It also is going to have more weight on the nose. It's just how it is.

You realize this doesn't change any of my points? Like I said there are different options for different preferences.

I'm not telling you not to buy it. It's a great car, go right ahead.

Why not pick the M3 or GT3
    I did. I have an M3.
