registered for my first roll racing event... any tips?

i know some members have been to these events... was looking for some advice... i just have headers, exhaust and a tune... staying on street tires should be fine right?

    M or S mode?

    Ah gotcha.

The most important thing is really maintaining traction.

Considering your power level street tires will be OK but I would definitely look for some more solid rubber if you're serious. It's really traction above all else and you can beat higher powered guys who struggle to put it down.

That's one thing I really never got a direct answer for. I kept it stock pressure, I don't want to lower it too much cause you're going to hit above 140mph. The only time I lower tire pressure is when I'm on a circuit track when the tires will get hot and inflate.

I would also pull out any unnecessary items that may be rolling around in the back seat or trunk.

i'm actually contemplating removing the rear seats at home... and the spare, tools, etc and maybe even the passenger seat on location... heard the passenger seat is a 5 min. job... but then there is the srs warning light which i don't know how to reset...

rear seats and trunk cover is approx. 60 lbs.
front passenger seat approx 63 lbs

i just got new wheels and wondering which ones to use now...

my stock 18s have 245/40 and 275/35 tires... 1 rear oem wheel with tpms weighs 25.79 lbs... the n3000 tire weighs about 27.1 so total is about 52.89 lbs...

i weighed my modulare 19 inch rear wheel with 285/30 tire and no tpms and it weight 54.1 lbs... i think the continental extreme contact dw tire by itself is about 27 lbs... which makes the wheel about 27.1 lbs...

tire stats are nearly identical... 340 treadwear, traction AA, Y speed rating...

the only problem, if it is a problem. is that the rear tires on the 19s have different wear on them since one of the tires were replaced due to a flat... so one tire has about 4/32+ and the other has 6/32+...

Don't worry about the tire tread and what's left. As long as youhave meat all around it's all good. I went to the 1/2 mile with 2 different tires up front and rear.

If it's street tires maybe a couple PSI less but don't go too far as you want stability at higher speeds.

Be ready to get drugg (sorry, just had to do it lol).

If I were you I would find a light wheel & tire setup (preferably dr's). Also throw a 100 shot if you can.

Tip: Dont be fooled by the announced "numbers" of the other cars, everyone is sandbagging Click here to enlarge

    See you at RR!

Lol. I've known what I was getting into. But it's not everyday that an event like this comes up near me.

And yeah. You never know with dyno numbers. Either way, I'm going to have a great time.

    See you there!

I emailed the promoters about this asking silly questions such as Safety, how long is the shut down, how long is acceleration etc.

No reply but I see more details have been posted. One of my concerns would be that the shut down area is a corner!! No thanks.

I know you're far away but there is a new event coming soon in California (hint hint) featuring a long straightaway with no corner shutdown area like this.
