Ooohhhh baby. I want one with this same setup just so my neighbors will love me that much more.

Can I get the actual graph, not one in a video? This is going straight to the front page.

Nicely done guys. I mean damn!

Sure will email you all Dynojet formats STD, SAE, & Uncorrected. But your email seems not working.

Great results, one question though, why on the dyno you started from first all the way to 7th while the others take it to 4th then floor it?learning something new every day...
    Thank you

Renntech tuned SLS Black Series M159 V8 with Renntech headers hits 562 wheel horsepower

Nice results here from a Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series whose 6.2 liter M159 V8 received Renntech headers and a custom dyno tune. The result? On a Dynojet in STD correction a peak of 562 wheel horsepower was hit. This is 37 wheel horsepower over the baseline of 525 wheel horsepower. In SAE correction on the Dynojet the peak figures change to 547 wheel horsepower for a gain of 34 wheel horsepower over the 513 wheel horsepower baseline.

Those are some very nice gains from a motor AMG pushes pretty far past the standard SLS AMG which itself features a more highly strung version of the M156 V8 seen in 63 AMG models known as the M159. Especially considering the Renntech headers still retain cats. 562 naturally aspirated horsepower is incredibly impressive in of itself as is squeezing more power out of the over 100 horsepower per liter M159 Black Series motor.

Dynographs and a video of the Black Series that will provides eargasms below.

Lets forget about numbers and focus on the gains. Whats the big deal about gaining only 37hp from Headers/Tune?

The SLS BS needs one thing, and thats a Weistec Kompressor.

No one should pay over 12k for 37hp . Im sorry but thats just dumb in my book

Love that sound! But its weird to see it top out in 7th at under 200 mph.. that's some crazy tight gearing

Some people want to keep their motor naturally aspirated and just sharpen what is there. How else would you propose doing it other than with a tune and exhaust mods?

Squeezing more power of this motor is incredible.

Should someone with a GT3 get a 911 Turbo instead simply due to raw power?

Geared for the track. I don't know of one where you go into turns at 200+ with a street car.

Exactly. Just like all Black Series cars, they aren't built for huge power at the drag strip, it's a track car made for a road course where a supercharger will just end up heat soaked after 5 laps so all you are left with is extra weight. The fact that he can't see that, nor appreciate how impressive it is to get this much power out of an already highly tuned motor speaks volumes...

I'm a big fan of naturally aspirated power and find the M159 in the Black Series incredibly impressive as it sits let alone squeezing more out of it.

I went 340 km/hr ~ 210mph with mine...Not sure why you cant with yours since you have the BS? can you tune your tranny for higher ratio to pick up more speed up top?

When I made my top speed run I was in New Mexico or Arizona at over 5000ft elevation and the car was still NA with only a weistec tune, two people in the car and the trunk stuffed literally full to the brim with our luggage. Car reached 198 relatively easy but then just kinda petered out before I had to let off the gas approaching traffic ahead. Not sure if it was gear, weight, altitude or what. I am running the Michigan Mile so if the car is capable of breaking 200 it will do it in that event considering my C BS went 194.7 there last year.

The cars are geared differently. The Black Series also has greater downforce.

By relocating and positioning the gears with a matching software in the valve body. Because without the software and applying the correct pressure release, nothing can be done. I'm sure @JRCART and @Sticky understood what I meant.

I cant really say the same about a moron who thought the MCT wasnt a 722.9, LOL:

You said a tune, you didn't mention anything else. And you make ZERO sense in the above statement. How exactly do you relocate a gearset ? And how would that change the final drive ratio???? That is what you said could be accomplished with a simple tune. All you've done is explain how to increase line pressure in the valve body which does NOT change the final drive ratio whatsoever.

Seems to me like the only moron here is you considering the fact that you didn't even know the SLS BS has a shorter final drive ratio than the regular SLS. Click here to enlarge

My posts #20 & #17 confirm that I do. Everything I said was correct. its too bad that you cant see it, but then again this is the person who thinks he is making 500rwhp with his pump tune CLK BS, lolClick here to enlarge

Your posts #17 and #20 prove you to be an uninformed idiot. You said you wondered why he couldn't break 200mph in his SLS BS. @Sticky then informed you the SLS BS had a shorter final drive ratio and you said, "That's true". LOL, how the hell does that prove anything other than you lack of knowledge on the subject ??

So why don't you stick to the subject and explain to us all how you change the final drive ratio of a car with just a tune ??? You can't, because the only way to change the gear ratio is to change the GEARS you $#@!ing moron.
