    That really sucks. The Weistec crew must really be sad about this. I really think the CLK would have broken serious records. Well, they can always do it again.

    @JRCART, you think about keeping the car at Maryland until the next event?

    No denying the bad-ass-ness of the car,the amount of power it makes and how fast it is as that speaks for itself. And I know 'chutes are NHRA required when you trap 150mph...I just cant get used to seeing it on the back of a CLK BSClick here to enlarge

    We are heading back now from Jersey. We wanted to say thanks to Ahmad for working hard to set up the event at MIR. We also want to say thank you to all the members we met. It was great to put a face to the name, and it always fun talking cars! Unfortunately the track conditions weren't favorable. We made a few hits at Atco and the car ran a best of 9.75 @ 153 mph and a 4.32 60-130 mph. Track prep was decent but the car was having trouble out of the hole. 1.60's 60 ft on our best pass. We have videos and pics coming soon! More racing to come soon as well! Thanks guys!

    The ET record still belongs to renntechs SLR that ran 9.68 @142. They broke their own trap speed record of 144 i believe. As you can see by the 10+mph trap advantage if they can hook they will destroy the overall ET record

    CONGRATS!! @JRCART and @Weistec for the new record. At 153mph, that is simply the most powerful AMG on the planet and certainly shows potential of hitting low 9's to high 8's. The trap speed surly shows that.

    Are you heading back again? you should elapse less than the current SLR 9.6 record which is trapping less than you are @~140

    Yea man that trap speed is just ridiculous !! And a 4.3 60-130 to boot. Honestly that trap shows potential for a high 8 second run. They ran in positive DA as well so if they get some runs in during our usual Late november weather they should see -1500DA and it should be even more ridiculous !! They had some bad luck this week first the rain and then we got hit with an unusual warm/humid week. I was seeing -1800 DA last week when doing vbox 60-130 runs. Thats the scariest part of these times its nowhere near its full potential .... BEAST !

    Both Steve and I made passes in the car. Steve made the first pass of the day just becuase he wanted to make sure everything was safe before handing it off to me. I was battling with traction issues and handed the car back off to Steve to see if he might have better luck but we were both having the same issues(wait until you see and hear video). The good news is that even our bad passes were all mostly 9.XX second passes at 150+ mph. This car is a monster and once we get the traction issue addressed I am confident the car can go 8's in ideal conditions. We are going to experiment with some different tires, stall and timing. A half dozen passes was not enough to get the car dialed in, Ahmad's MIR event that got cancelled due to a damp track would have been ideal and would have allowed for virtually unlimited passes which would have spedd up the process of dialing the car in.

    Weistec and I now hold the overall MB 60ft record, 1/8th mile trap record, 1/4 mile trap record and 60-130 record. We are just .07 second off of the overall MB 1/4 mile ET currently held by the Renntech SLR. I think it is pretty obvious that record will not be standing much longer.

    Gateway International in St. Louis is 3.5-4 hours from my house, I am half tempted to drive down for their test and tune this Saturday, a friend ran their last Saturday and said the track was super fast and ran a personal best in his 700whp Evo. The only thing stopping me is that I leave for a family cruise on Sunday and if I $#@! anything up my wife will hang me by my balls. I have been out $#@!ing around for the 6 out of last 7 weekends so I should probably sit tight and attempt the record after I return from my cruise happy wife, happy life Click here to enlarge

    I am registered at the Michigan Mile in July. by far the best airstrip event I have done. Runway is 155 feet wide and 8000 feet long. Everything around the track is plush green grass, so you do not have to deal with the dust and sand like at the Texas Mile and Shift Sector 1/2 mile. I went 194.7 there last year in my C BS which was only making 670whp at the time. I am going to try to get all three cars out for the event next time around. Considering the CLK went 187 in the 1/2 at Shift Sector with 200whp less than it makes now I would guess the CLK could easily do 225mph in the mile at it's current power level.
