    No lift shifting

I always No lift shifted when I ran my BMW, Hondas or what ever car I felt like driving fast.

I did not know Cars had to be designed for no lift shifts.

Is it a gimmic or do a lot of people lift during shifts?

I for one do not lift during my shifts if I am seriously running my car.

I've done this before in past cars never in the m3. I imagine it's hard on the clutch. I think there may be something to it but mostly just a sales gimmick. On a side note the new taillights are freakin ugly!

It cuts out power during shifts. It's not that hard on anything.

NLS without an NLS system = revs shoot up and you burn your clutch.

NLS on a car not setup with it is going to kill the clutch, possibly damage some other parts on a more aggressive setup.

It's a huge advantage on turbo cars since you maintain boost, gonna guess Chevy added this to hopefully close the gap between the ZL1 & GT500

Chevy has had NLS for a long time. They had it on the 06 cobalts. My SS had it as well. It's still hard on the tranny no matter what way you look at it. Guys would blow third gear because of it, but idk about this tranny lol.

Wow, surprising if it was a factory included option that there wasn't higher strength gearing/clutches from the factory to avoid trans destruction. Especially cause if someone breaks under warranty, they could prob limp to the dealer & have it all replaced.

Well that's what was happening in the Cobalt. I mean it's a cobalt LOL. It usually happened more when people tuned their car, it's mostly cause of the torque spikes right when changing gears.

I don't know if the car needs to be designed for it but I've heard of GM test drivers banging out clutchless upshifts...
