I took delivery of my new SLS BS last week and the guys from Weistec flew out to Chicago to tune it. In two weeks I will be shipping the car out to their facility so they can install one of their 3.0L SLS systems. Our goal is about 800whp.

Gorgeous car mate. I was asking for more pics on MBW, good to see some more and looking forward to seeing the build.

This should take the title of worlds quickest benz when it is done.

I saw the car on Instegram and I suspected it was yours. What basy dyno number did you get before and after the tune? were they much higher than a normal SLS?

You went with red, awesome. I have only seen the car in the yellow in person so far.

When Weistec gets it in I'll be sure to go take a look and try to pry a baseline dyno out of their hands.

Regardless, congratulations that is a serious machine worthy of admiration.

Oh and maybe @Weistec can't answer this yet but will they have access to the ECU already or does it have new encryption?

A blower on this thing already would be mind blowing. Oh man, and imagine retrofitting that top end on standard SLS's... would definitely make me think about picking one up.

A baseline is nothing to hide and Weistec isn't like that anyway.

    If anyone can, they can.

In NA form I'm betting it's pretty damn aggressive. What can anyone really get out of it especially on 91 octane in Cali?

You can do the typical delete cats, less restrictive exhaust, add some timing within reason, but that's about it. Mercedes set a pretty high standard with aggressive factory tunes on the P31 cars. I wouldn't be surprised if this is even more aggressive.

You rarely see a naturally aspirated motor of this size near 100 hp per liter. I can't think of one. The McLaren F1? Ferrari Enzo? Neither is a production V8. Neither is in this price range.

Guys, the car has been on the dyno and we have baseline numbers and some numbers with a very conservative ecu tune. Weistec did not want to release the tune figures because it was just a conservative tune done on a vehicle with under 100 miles on it and we only had a bout 2 hours of dyno time to play with it so they did not get it tuned 100%.

Car baslined at 530ish whp and Wesitec's tune added another 20ish hp but the Weistec tune drastically changed and improved the curve. What I can tell you is the tune is very different than a standard SLS or SLS GT so it took Steve a little more time than he had anticipated. We hit the dyno at 2:00pm on a Friday afternoon and the shop closes at 4:00 so we had limited time and Steve did not squeeze all the power out of it that he wanted to. These numbers are with the stock filters in tact. Car is headed out to Wesitec late next week for 3.0L SC install and a few other goodies....those should be the ultra impressive WHP numbers that I am sure most of you are waiting for.

Car is running great and I have a couple hundred more miles on it now.

Look at photo number 4, car is sitting on the dyno rollers. I took delivery of the car Friday morning and it was on the dyno getting some baseline figures three hours later.

The main reason we had the car on the dyno and the ECU opned up was so that Steve could take a look and download some data in preparation for the blower install. Car is going to SEMA and we will have limited time to get the instal completed so this couiple hours on the dyno really helped out Steve so he knows what to do in a couple areas once the blower goes on.

you are correct, it is already a pretty aggressive tune out of the box, clearly the tune is where AMG is squeezing some of that 622 hp out of compared to other M159's

Awesome !!! Thanks for the updates good to know some data. So how is the curve on this M159 on roids? I know the redline on reg m156/159 is 7200 and the BS is pushing it to 8000 rpm. AMG always said the valve train on both motors was good for 8K but the auto/Mct on the m156 couldn't cope with it. Wonder if the heads are any different I'm sure the cams are to make power with the new rev limiter.
So does it hold power pretty well to 8K or is their a drop off/ plateau

Wow so they already have ECU access. Impressive.
