Anyone running a Passport 9500ci with Distronic Plus successfully?

Like a dummy, I bought a Passport 9500ci radar detector to replace my 9500i. Reason being was the metallic coating in the windshield was killing my GPS signal on my 9500i and I noticed the radar detecting range was deminished as well. Passport verified that the windshield was the main issue. Sadly, they didn't inform me of the Distronic Plus issue I would have with the 9500ci.

Has anyone managed to shield the histrionic plus sensor on the bottom to keep the false K signals from happening? I have finally gotten sick of it and turned K Band off but K Band is still used here in Florida. Anyone know any secrets or tricks? I can't believe that Passport can't release an update blocking the frequency of the Distronic Plus system. Can't be that hard.
2012 Mercedes S63.... lowered, 22" Vossen CV3's, tune and times coming soon.

2007 Jeep GC SRT8 Turbo.... too much to list.

Yeah, this is an issue. I hate this feature on cars for this very reason (sorry) - people should be able to turn their heads instead of relying on K band to help them out. It really drives me nuts - as there is no easy way around this for you. With the Redline and their latest (Max?) - you can block a certain range of frequencies - which I have done, and none of the Audis (used to set mine off all the time) cause issue anymore, however I think it still happens once in awhile. You definitely do NOT want to turn off K band, as you mention - it's still in use, and for me in Ill/Ind - quite heavily.

I would give Escort a call - let them know what's going on, and see what your options are; however, as far as I know, you can't block certain frequencies of the radar spectrum until you pay a bit more (again, Redline or above?)... I hear your pain though - glad I don't own a car that emits what I am trying to elude Click here to enlarge

    Cheers.

Pay a bit more?!?! The 9500ci is $1700.00! I don't get how they can block certain frequencies at a certain GPS point, but they can't block out a single frequecy. Before I turned off the K Band, it probably went off about every 2 minutes on a 2 hour road trip to Orlando. It was too much. I have contacted Passport and they say there's nothing that can be done. Even turning off the RADAR in the car doesn't help. We've disconnected the radar and all was quiet, only to light up the dash like crazy.

I wish I had known this before I bought this stupidly expensive unit. So between the metal oxide windshield and the K band emmiting Distronic Plus, I guess I'm screwed for total protection. Well, at least I have laser jammers I guess.

Sorry Inline..... my bad, I forogt to say thanks for the reply!! Appreciate the input.

LOL - no worries... I didn't realize the 9500ci is the in-car one. You can block frequencies - lemme dig up the how to. You can do this - gimme a sec.

It looks like escortradar.com is down right now. The features are called "RDR" and "BS' - these are what you need to alter.

It should be very close to the settings on the Redline... This is what I am referring to BTW --> http://www.jacksonnjonline.com/2013/...g-giant/35163/

Thanks for the link. I wonder if that works for K-Band as well and not just Ka. I have no problems with KA band..... just false K's. I appreciate the help!! So far you've been the only person who has known anything. Lol. Maybe I'll try AGAIN and get ahold of Escort. Their customer service line is ridiculous to try and get through. Appreciate the link man!
