Beautiful car & I'm shocked you're even considering since you finally nailed down the pulley size (thought you were after an E85 tune)..... Just make sure when/if it sells, that the new buyer knows they may need to swap pulleys

Well the e85 route is looking like it will cost me a substantial amount $$ for minimal gains. I haven't even been able to find anyone able or willing to tune the damn thing, outside of one individual who wants me to fly him out, pay 2k for a custom tune, pay for 2-3 days room and board and a rental car. I've reached the limits for the car (as far as what i'm financially willing to spend) I want more power, and i think i need to turn to a more "pure" sports car for a better starting platform, ie a viper, z06, gtr or maybe even a C7 Stingray.

Word -- If you want big power, the domestic stable is full of stuff you can do for 1/2 the cost of the M3 -- Z06/C6 Vette, Viper, Mustang with that 5.0, CTS-V, etc. Only problem is with most of those, you'll lose the German refinement. Closest all around package to the M3 is a Weistec supercharged C63 Click here to enlarge, GTRs are great but they're a little overdone and don't have as much "identity" as the other cars.

I know. Im test driving a 04 SRT Viper tomorrow. LOOOVE the look of the car. I have a feeling im not gonna like how slow it feels compared to my M3 though haha. And the refinement..... not even close, BUT a much more stout platform to build on, and 700hp is relatively easy on the car with bolt ons and a 7k paxton blower.

Thanks! Yea, i'm honestly still torn on the idea of selling her.... Vettes and GTRs are all over here, while M3's are rare, and blown M3's are non existent up here in Co. While they offer a better base platform for a pure sports car, it's nice having the only 500+ hp E9x M3 up here in Colorado. Still not 100% sure on selling her just yet. I need to test drive a Z06, after that I can decide what I'll do.

996/997 or new stingray is about the only thing id move into from the M3. Ive been in your situation, minus the altitude affecting things. drive some of the other cars and you will always miss the V8/DCT combo regardless of HP.. unless its 650+ which is easily achievable with the other guys.. so its a tough call.

Car looks damn good though.. i think brushed black wrap i what i want to do Click here to enlarge

your lack of hp is only for about 3-4 weeks though. having dealt with the LS supercharging specialists for some time now, as well as common knowledge, thats about how long it will take for someone to S/C it and your right back in the game Click here to enlarge

Once someone figures out DI on that motor, it's not only going to open up the flood gates for the C7 Vette, but every other DI car out there with high HP potential (N54, the 997.2 + new 991 Turbos, etc)

Now having second thoughts...... Debating a 10:1 build w/ a YSI or possibly in house turbo setup from AR Design. GTR's and C6Z's are all over... I think im the only 550+hp E9x M3 in the state, and figure having a 700+ hp would be even nicer..... Ohhhhhh decisions.

I refuse to drive in any blown M3s at sea level lol. I don't want to come back to Colorado and move just because I pick up another 100hp going down to sea level. Although im very curious to see how hard a 800hp YSI M3 pulls....

I really love the idea of this SILVER M3 beast or other modded E46 M3 (Max PSI in New jersey) or buying an E9X M3 and adding the SC of Gintani (Sticky).. but there are SO MANY GREAT options out there in the next 18 months or so in the $55k-70k range

$100k range is the new E63 AMG
    $55k range CLA 45 AMG, Z51 LT1 with options
    $70k range BMW M4, C63 AMG, used V10 M5, used X5M etc

The new Stingray is a really interesting base (Z51)... so many options out there for a $8k mod to get even a Z51 LTx with the dual exhaust into 700 crank range and 6XX torque.... $65k or so for that is compelling unless the new M4 can REALLY surprise with weight, revs and ability to tune
