APR's tuned Q5 3.0 TFSI at the 1/4 mile drag strip versus a Mustang GT 5.0

Great dragstrip video here showing the updated Audi Q5 with the 3.0 TFSI supercharged V6 motor at the drag strip versus a Mustang GT 5.0. The Q5 3.0 TFSI ECU tune from APR was recently released and adds a whopping 132 horsepower to the wheels tune only. Yes, very impressive and it makes a huge difference in performance as one would imagine. A drag race between a Mustang 5.0 with an Audi Q5 is not only no longer laughable but the Q5 can win.

APR showed the Q5 running 12.8@105 but in the video here they hit 12.7 @ 106. That is moving especially versus stock! The Mustange 5.0 runs a 13.3@101, ouch. Now Mustang fanboys will of course say the Mustang owner launched poorly and can't drive and blah blah excuses on top of excuses but there is no denying the Q5 wins the race and crosses the finish line quicker and faster.

This just goes to show on the street the Q5 by virtue of its automatic transmission and all wheel drive can easily catch a Mustang owner sleeping and pull away. Also, it shows the Mustang 5.0 does not always run the times the fanboys promote as gospel. This is a real world world example not a best conditions and best driver on paper race.

Regardless, the Q5 is very impressive and AudiBoost looks forward to seeing the Stage II tune with a pulley upgrade as well as the upcoming supercharger upgrade.

Wonder if they'll get it into the 11's. Probably.

It would be interesting to see. Shaving off .8 seconds on a ~4300lb SUV isn't exactly easy. But if their 3.0 supercharger can get this into the 11s, you'll see their lighter cars putting up some impressive numbers.

Weird. Are we sure that was a 5.0? Those are trap speeds more like a 3V 4.6L. Fast moving Q5 nonetheless.

Agreed but since this is tune only they haven't really even taken it that far yet.

Look at the exterior view. Looks like the GT, sounds like a V8, and chirps second gear...

I'm in the same local euro group as this car, still haven't seen it run in person though. He also has a stage 3 golf R and that thing MOVES.

Someone needs to keep the Pedal down and just power shift through the gears.
