What is up with that Mustang? Per the videos it's claimed to be at only 495WHP. Obvious that the car can put the power down and launch like crazy, but I'd expect the higher horsepower cars it's racing to run it down as the race progresses...

    Impressive to say the least.

lol 495 horsepower before a ginormous hit of N20.

500 hp would have to be in a 2500 lb car or less, with ideal launch and good driver to even *think* about breaking into the 9's.

500 horsepower does NOT yank a car like that off the line. 700-800 does on slicks lol
that was a big sand bagger, i like it Click here to enlarge

seems like that porsche didnt launch well either.

A perfectly launch with rockets couldn't of help that Porsche, but that Mustang gets Busy.

Agreed, I'd never put big money down against a mustang unless I was running 8's. so many 9 second Foxes rolling around.
But that Mustang looked streetable to me and no doubt spent less money in mods. Apples-apples to me.

like people racing for money are going to post their whp all over the internet...that's only something you see from glorified internet/bench racers. The people calling BS like they have stumbled onto a Sherlock Holmes discovery are hilarious Click here to enlarge (no $#@! Sherlock...literally)

+5000. The internet has ruined street racing. Thats why I didn't post my numbers online for the longest time. As soon as you start the negotiations, everybody gets on their iphone REAL quick trying to look your car up, whats done to it, and how fast it is lol. 10 years ago things were much different!

seriously. this dude makes money doing this...he's certainly not going to be advertising what he's got. that's the game...if you can find it, i've got it. if not, i don't. lets race.

don't get me wrong...i'll prolly post up my numbers so everyone can see how awesome i am...but that's mainly because there is no racing scene out here. down south? pffffft. i'd hide everything and pop the hood...

I don't disagree with you, but if you post a number, don't be deceptive. Not to say you should believe everything you see on the internet, obviously.

I'd say the entire point of that "495 whp" being added to the video was to be fully deceptive...It's competition; they aren't trying to be your friend and go have beer with you later...they are trying to make $$$$$

To me this is nothing aside from COMMON PRACTICE in a car community where people are actually racing fast cars but I guess some people don't really understand it (Sandbagging is not new...)

Or adults who don't care about racing on the street for money. As it turns out, many of those building German cars to high horsepower levels already have money and could piss on $5k.

$5k street race between Izzy Performance built motor E85 997.2 turbo versus sandbagging Foxbody Mustang (AV Boys)

Hell of a street race here between a 911 Turbo and a Mustang. It's a street race that was negotiated for $5k and somehow the racers and spectators manage to essentially shut down a public street for the run. On one side you have a 2012 Porsche 997.2 Turbo running E85 and said to be built. That likely means built motor and upgraded turbos. On the other side you have a Foxbody Mustang said to be naturally aspirated with 331 cubes.

On paper, this race should go the 911 Turbo's way especially considering it gets a car length and the hit. That is enough to make one raise their eyebrows and know something is up. The Porsche owner definitely should have known better. Especially considering there are videos online of this same Mustang taking down much stronger opponents like a 900 horsepower Corvette. Know your enemy.

Video is below, enjoy and the Mustang shows why a properly prepped rear wheel drive can beat all wheel drive in a drag race.

What I saw written on another site regarding the Mustang's launch, ignore the grammar mistake:

That mustangs launch was dirtier then fingering your sister and finding your fathers wedding band.
