Driver X just tried to make a 60-130 run off the one good bottle with rpm cut out adjusted, though he ran out out of nitrous halfway through the pull. However the 60-85 time dropped from a 2.2-2.3 on the 7.29 run to a 1.9 with 100% nitrous tonight before it ran out. We should see high 6s this week.

    Thanks

You are going to playing with a 10 second slip in that case.

That ended up being the best pass of the night, the trans or converter started slipping on the 2-3 shift so it was downhill from there despite improving the 60's by a full tenth by spraying in first (and it can still take more, we were nowhear near the converter) from 1.83 to 1.73.

Car has 28K miles of "well utilized" miles on it so it makes sense. 150+ 1/4 mile passes, standing mile events, road courses like Roebling and Sebring... It will be pulled, the clutch packs freshened and matched with one of our custom billet stall converters. Our converters feature a redesigned billet stator fin and actually locks up 100%, a stock 7G stall will only lock-up 95% at WOT full load they are also typically weaker than the OEM trannys. Our stalls are rated to 900lb/ft.

This will get us ready for the 10/10/10 Top Gun run where the goal is 200mph set by the man himself. After that we'll get back to 1/4 mile racing with another twist. Click here to enlarge I love fall, college football and end of year drag racing Click here to enlarge

The car 60's (in good air) 1.65-1.68 N/A so if we bring it in earlier and match those short times we'll be in the 10s. There is so much time left to pickup just playing with the ramp in rates with the 125 shot. Anything larger is going to be scary fun.

    Thanks!

If it is already slipping how are you not near the limit?

I really want to see this slip.

Sorry I phrased that badly. What I meant to say is he was nowhere near the traction threshold/limit, we could have sprayed more in 1st gear and brough it in quicker, but by this point the converter/trans was already slipping 2-3 so the lower 60s were mitigated and then some. Also our bring in rpm was nowhere near the OEM converter lock-up speed so we can go lower and pick up more ET. Our billet converter will take significantly more abuse than the stocker as well.

Slips, Vids, VBox data coming tomorrow. 1/8th was IIRC 7.3@100.9, 60' was 1.83 on best/same run.

Hmmm, so really the easiest way to get more power out of my C63 is just a tune and spray. Interesting!

He typically cuts 1.65-1.68 N/A in good air, remember he didn't spray at all in first on that pass (that was his 4th pass ever on nitrous in this car so he's still playing with ramp rates with the prog. controller). Also we have ~14.0" rear rotors so we can't run a bias ply tire. Coming out of the hole in 90F+ air with 85% humidity N/A killed launch and as we all know the launch is 90% of the race. When this setup is all said and done (125 shot) basically meaning the progressive controller file is perfected I see 10.7-10.8s@132+, at MIR in Oct/Nov 10.6@134. Yes the car will be sprayed in first next time out with much more aggressive ramp in rate and there is plenty left on the table or rather in the bottles. Finally this is still pre-cam Click here to enlarge

    Thanks!

This is going to hold you back. MT does have a 17" slick though.

    Guys,
Thanks for all the kind words. I have to give credit where credit is due. This is not a one man band or even a two man band. First and foremost my family supports all this crazyness and I am gratefull!! Thanks for all the help they have given and the support these last two years!!

Andy at MHP has supplied all the software and hardware but there are others I couldn't have done it without. Ben works with me and is also a great friend and car nut. He helps me everytime out and drives most of the time now. I really enjoy watching the car run and I can have a better perspective of whats going on and how to improve things being outside the car. THANK YOU BEN!! Larry at Macedo Motorsports has always done my high performance after market work and his work is second to none. He has done most of the after market additions including this crazy nitrous set up. THANK YOU LARRY!! Jerry at MB Service here in Oviedo is a long term Mercedes mechanic and is the best in his field. He did the heads installation and other mercedes specific related work. THANK YOU JERRY!! These men have countless hours into this project and we all love it, at least I think so. LOL Click here to enlarge

This has been a two year journey and its not over. Thanks guys and we'll get it figured out.

The car has NO traction problems and will cut a better 60' is colder weather as Andy has said. Then we'll be looking at 10's for sure. The 11.11 pass was made with the 125 shot and not the larger 622HP shot. We only made one run with those pills and you can watch that on you tube at brantleyss. The tranny is slipping and its not pretty. LOL However, we'll get it done!!

Ya'll keep racing and be safe!!
