    2012 McLaren MP4-12C vs 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S Drag Racing 1/4 Mile @ PBIR

Three drag runs between the Mclaren Mp4 and Porsche turbo PDK. Both cars are claimed to be stock (Which I highly doubt, especially the Mclaren). Anyway, The MP4 seems to outrun it on all runs.

This is the same Mclaren that tapped 10.3. I really dont think that this is a stock car. Owner seems to want everything kept a secret

A video of the same car was posted showing a 0-60 Vbox in 2.8 seconds (On the street):

The car is stock. Updated to 2013 specs. They all run this way. My McL makes my CLK BS seem like a Flintstone mobile.

No launch control and with a 2012 tune for the video you posted. All cars have been now updated to 2013 specs by McLaren.

Exactly - Apparently this guy does not understand that the factory retune of earlier cars keeps them "stock" since it's OEM tuning. I have yet to see an aftermarket tuner mess with an MP4. So that begs the question...

    @SLS AMG -
What do you think has been modified on the MP4 to make it not stock ???

Some people really are a waste of time replying to. Just for the record, I have driven a Mclaren MP4 ( A FAB Edition one too). It belongs to my cousin. I also had a proffesional shoot with my car and this particular Mclaren. I have also seen it perform at the drag, and this was a 2013 Model

You have yet to see an aftermarket tuner mess with an MP4? .....THAT EXPLAINS IT.

    check this out:

    https://www.fabspeed.com/mclaren.html

    Power is riased to 725HP

    Another tuner:
    http://www.wheelsandmore.de/en/Tunin...n-mp4-12c.html

Also - DMC , Renntech and PP-Performance all have software programming to be released soon. Lenny From Renntech posted a photo here in this forum of that exact same MP4's ECU above. Now I wonder why a stock MP4 would have its ECU being pulled out?Click here to enlarge

You could be right my friend. If this was the case, then maybe Mclaren are underrating thier 660hp claim?

Yes. I saw this on some car magazine. It was actually a YouTube video, where they were testing the Mclaren. I'll try to look at around and find it. Anyways, the car is a beast. It was able to keep up easily with the new Pagani Huayra in another test, and that car is rated at 700hp.

Yet, you still reply LOL. And better yet, with more useless information. So you've driven one, and had a "professional photo shoot", I guess that makes you an expert LOL.
The links you provided are OEM factory tunes, as other members have also confirmed here, Which you yourself just also agreed with So you are actually contradicting yourself.
And you have yet to answer My question. So if you think that it is not stock what exactly do you think has been modified?

Thank you. someone who sees what I see. I saw that too and the Pagani is a much lighter car.

@LZH I have beaten a stock Mclaren MP4 with my SLS and I know a similar modded SLS from Weistec also did in the USA, go aske themClick here to enlarge. The one Above I have no chance against it. Now can you please explain it to me!

The "stock" MP4 you beat probably didn't have the factory power upgrade. But then again, I don't know for sure which is why I say probably as I don't like to speculate like you do.
And you continue to avoid my question, so I'll ask it for the third time.
If you think the car isn't stock, then what exactly do you think has been modified ?

ECU software remmaping and some downpipes. I could also be mistaken. Maybe they are beasts when launching from a standpoint but they dont pull as hard on the high end?

Porsche 911 Turbo S (997.2) versus McLaren MP4-12C head to head at the 1/4 mile drag strip

Great video here of three runs at the PBIR (Palm Beach International Raceway) between a McLaren MP4-12C and a Porsche 911 Turbo S PDK. Oddly enough, the McLaren seems to rip the 911 Turbo out of the hole on the runs despite not having all wheel drive. It's fast, very fast in the first run turning a 10.6@134 to the 911's 11.0@125. On the second run the McLaren gives the 911 Turbo the hit and seems to just barely run it down but the times are similar with a 10.6@133 for the McLaren and 11.0@126 for the 911 Turbo.

The 911 Turbo S is a terror on the drag strip having shown a 10.7@127 in stock form and even a 10.6@129. That was in seemingly better weather though and the Florida PBIR strip isn't the fastest when temps start to heat up.

This MP4-12C likely has the new software update which bumps output by 25 horsepower. On R-Compound rubber we have seen a 10.3 1/4 mile out of the car completely stock. It's simply quicker and faster than the 911 Turbo S, video below.

I agree... What's 1000 times more impressive than the 0-60 video, is the 0-100 time (shown below on the vbox) of 6.0 seconds flat. That's INSANE. I could easily see this running 9s.

The 5 ultra rare HIGH SPORT edition sold thru THE COLLECTION in Coral Gables, FL dealer...with some convincing customer to McLaren Special Operations division. Will be very close to low 10's & possible high 9's if you can find an owner or McLaren willing to send a HS for PBIR runs.

Also, the 2012 MP4-12c software upgrade 616bhp everyone looks at the peak 25 bhp gain alone; an axial dyno (unless you have a McLaren Tablet to use a 2wd dyno =) will show you the under the curve useable powerband to be much higher than the peak 25bhp gained. Also, note the engineers redid transmission software as well & that adds a difference too!!!

BTW, that Dragtimes McLaren have the optional McLaren INCONEL stealth exhaust... I don't think another exhaust will make a difference.
