AMS Performance preliminary Alpha 9 package sets a new M157 (63 AMG bi-turbo) V8 horsepower record with a 787 wheel horsepower dynojet dyno

The M157 scene just continues to heat up and already we are seeing tuners go back and forth breaking records. Weistec recently hit 727 wheel horsepower with their turbo upgrade package on 100 octane race gas. This stood as the M157 horsepower record since January but AMS has broken this record with a 787 wheel horsepower pull. AMS claims this number was with their upgraded turbos alone (with race gas) and that all other parts on the car are stock.

This means stock downpipes, stock exhaust, and a stock intercooler. Somewhat hard to believe as AMS has no video of the car to show and also no pictures of their upgraded turbos have been posted. Additionally, no specifications on the turbos themselves. Not that BenzBoost is doubting AMS but clearly more details are necessary here.

These upgraded turbochargers will be the main part of the AMS Alpha 9 package for the AMG M157 turbo V8 although it is unknown at this time what other supporting modifications will be included or what the pricing will be.

Regardless, congrats to AMS for the new record and it will be interesting to see the back and forth that goes on with the M157 platform with more and more upgraded turbo options coming to market.

Hard to believe they are getting an additional 60whp over the Weistec setup without DP's. I'd like to see a video of this pull.

They definitely are not new to the big hp turbo tuning game. Going to be interesting to see what kind of track numbers their M157 can put down cause that's all that really matters.
