    Exclamation BMW M5 F10 VS Mercedes E63 AMG S 4MATIC

    It is interesting.
    Bad launch from M5 and still it's quicker to 200+ km/h. E 63 AMG S-model disappoints! Doesn't it?

This isn't a head to head run just a speedo overlay?

And how is this the E63 AMG S? It isn't even out yet.

Don't think E63 is using launch control.

This is comparing the cars in different locations on different days possibly with different fuels. Not really fair...

We know a F10 M5 can beat a normal 2013 E63. E63 with PP will walk away after 85+ however. With all these electronics there are so many debates, "WAS HE IN SPORT/M/S+/RACE?!" the good ole days of "OH he got the better launch, he wins." are gone. Click here to enlarge

In the old days there were many factors as well including weather, traction, launch, etc.

It will be interesting to see how the F10 M5 and the facelift stack up.

A magazine will get one soon and do a comparo on the same day. Fact is when the F10 M5 came out, it was almost a dead heat between an 2013 E63. Some comparos the M5 had a tenth on the E63 up to 130mph.

Now give the E63 another 27hp and awd. We should know the outcome already.

Now that I see where they pulled the two dash videos from. The M5 was using launch control and the E63-S was not.

AWD helps with traction off the line a couple of tenths. Then it's dead weight & drivetrain loss to lug around. I wouldn't be surprised if the RWD version was about a second quicker than the AWD version to 120mph.
