What keeps you up at night?

I can be so tired that I barely make it to the bed, but once I lay down, there are a million thoughts going through my head. Whether its thinking about something stupid I did in like 5th grade or how I'm going to manage all of my work for the week, something always keeps me from falling asleep Click here to enlarge

I can never get my brain to stop. Everything keeps me up. Thinking about the sites, what I want to do, what I need to do that I didn't finish, what vendors are asking for, etc. Then there's my car, upcoming events, getting the t-shirts done, then mobile apps, software updates, programming, new articles, etc. Then real life issues and then thinking about the economy and government. Then there's friends, women, and all the other stuff.

This is why I'm preferring to get less sleep these days and waking up earlier so that it is easier to fall asleep simply out of exhaustion.

Normally I lie awake for 20 minutes before falling asleep. Sometimes more, sometimes less.
But I learned never to play a C&C game late at night unless I could finish a level.
I would lie awake forever just thinking strategies...

Pain in the left arm. Feels like the arm is gonna fall off, and my fingers are tingling. All of this after a tetanus shot. It's been 3 weeks since, one cycle of prescription stereoids, and vicodin every 4 hours. Going to see a specialist tomorrow, hope he can at least help me getting my sleep back. /rant

Work, thinking up new products. My head is constantly going with designs for sick $#@!. Not enough hours in the day.

Nothing, I sleep like a log because I'm exhausted every single night. Currently my regimen is 5hrs a night and I can still be productive the next day. I did experiment with anywhere from 3-9hrs a night and for me 5hrs is the sweet spot.

I do know people that have trouble sleeping, try some muscle relaxation routines, it seems to help calm the mind by forcing you to focus on relaxing different parts of your body.

Fear of mediocrity. I'm launching a website and working on two other ventures, so my mind tends to race on some nights. Waking up between 2-4am is a fairly frequent occurrence.

I have found the best way to get asleep quickly.

Is weed. Click here to enlarge

    OK joking aside.

Leave ALL electronics out of your bedroom, including TV's, computers, phones etc.

Write down everything you plan on doing the next morning, and getting things like coffee pre-ready to go, Have your cloths laid out, etc etc so you don't have to worry about them (this is a big one for me)

and (as stupid as this sounds) having a clean, well made bed seems to help me fall asleep.

Electronics all off helps. I noticed getting rid of my alarm clock and just using my cell helps so I don't dwell on the time. No idea when I fell asleep last night but I feel fine today.

Dont usually have a problem falling asleep. Crossfit leaves me physically exhausted. Before customers would text/call me at all hours. Had to start turning off my phone and use an alarm clock again.

use sound manager to schedule the volume settings of your phone. Works perfect.

Not just that, i usually left the phone screen up at night...text or phonecall even on silent would just light the whole room up. So I started leaving the phone face down...but then curiousity would get the best of me and I would have to look. So just turning it off seems to work best lol.
