    That is insanity... They (Mazda) should have at least done a two or three rotor - that is unbelievably awesome.

    Yeah, I should have worded that a bit different. I had an RX-8 for a while, and knew it was a 2 rotor... I kinda meant put more of something like the above video and pictures - a "bad ass" NA Wankel. They have always been relatively small displacement (internally) - not sure why they never made say - a 3 liter 3 rotor. I am guessing efficiency is the reason, I know 500cc/cylinder is considered about optimal for a "normal" engine, not sure about a rotary.

    I always loved the RX-7, and even loved the RX-8 - it was one of the best handling cars I have driven. I am sure it would have been a LOT better with some more grunt is all I mean.
