ml550 w166 front airdam convert to ml63 deep airdam?

    Hello all,

I have a 2012 ml 550 with the standard amg front and rear bumper. Someone backed into my bumper and cracked the chrome trapezoidal part.

Does anyone know if I remove that chrome part and order the ml63 amg mesh to replace it ,will it work? I was thinking of then ordering the brabus add-on front spoiler.

Then Voila! fixed with a sportier amg ml63 look...

sorry, here's the link, couldn't paste the picture..

    ml550 front bumper,
the next link shows a brabus bumper and lip. it seems brabus supplies both pieces..
I wanted to just use the lower brabus lip, so it looks like the ml 63's deeper lip instead of a bar running through the middle.

    Embedded the images for you.

You can remove the chrome part and use mesh but it will likely leave a big odd looking gap. If the chrome piece if removable why not replace it?

I was thinking to fill the gap with the mesh of a ml63 so then it would look sportier with the deeper airdam, does anyone have any mechanic experience to know if this can be done? Will a dealer retrofit or "make something work to install the brabus on too?

The Brabus setup just appears to be a lip, that's simple and anyone can add it.

The question is, can you simply remove the chrome part though?
