my new personal best quarter mile et on street tires

my previous best et on street tires was 11.93... unfortunately, i'm still on street tires... i used to be on michelin pilot super sports, but they were too expensive for my kind of daily driving... my current dd street tires are Nexen N3000... i've used them before and they are great daily driving tires for the price... and so far they have gotten me my best 60' time and 1/4 et so far...

all runs done in S mode... esp in sport mode...

    11.916 @ 118.20 2000rpm
    60' 1.933 DA +899
    11.812 @ 119.229 - DA corrected

some other notable times from tonight

    11.95@117.9
    60' 1.929 DA +899
    11.846@11.8311 - DA corrected

    12.045@116.12
    60' 1.911 DA +888
    11.942 @ 117.111 - DA corrected

    11.917 @ 118.35 1700rpm
    60' 1.901 DA +888
    11.815 @ 119.36 - DA corrected

    11.974 @ 117.46
    60' 1.915 DA +888
    11.872 @ 118.462

and thanks to petroc63 suggesting i try esp sport mode... i've been playing around with it and it's been working great so far on street tires... i found my sweet spot to launch between 1500-1800 rpm... i even tried 2000rpm... but strangely it only worked out for me once... and that one time ended up giving me my best et...

    here are a few vids

As soon as you get some negative DA going you will trap 120.

Why are you on street tires? You should be doing 1.7X 60 foots and approaching mid 11's.

i'm always on street tires... i'm slowly looking for a pair of rear wheels to put different tires on... i don't want to use my oem wheels and then switch back to my street tires...

you think getting 1.7 will put me into mid 11s? that would be exciting to see

Tenth of 60 foot is about 2 tenths of ET.

Definitely get a set of rear with some drag radials.

Hey, what are some popular smaller rim options for these cars, I know Hoosier now makes a 17" drag slick that will work on rims 9-11" wide, or has anyone fitted a 16" rim with your factory irs? I know drag radials are becoming available in larger sizes lately, but even moving to a 17" rim opens up the door for soooo many more sticky tire options?

i know some hard core racers have gone 15s but you have to swap the brakes for c300 ones... i believe 17s are the norm without having to change anything

Not sure what 17 inch rims are available off the shelf. Best to just get a set made for your specific application.

Yes. Well worth it for the additional sidewall though.
