Didn't know the warranty would cover this.

As long as it's not water damage and if you have the 5 dollar/month warranty they will give you a refurbished replacement.

I don't have that warranty. I just need the plastic screen and someone to install it.

Was it in your pocket when it happened?

I've been eyeing the Note II but everytime I search ebay there's a ton of cracked screens out there, Im guessing from carrying it in a front pocket?

The screen size and pen is definitely awesome, but I'd hate to get a fanny pack just to carry it safely.

Well, the Note III won't be available till September, so you'll need another phone till then.
I'd suggest a Galaxy S4 if you can hang on for another 2 weeks, or a Galaxy S3 if you need one now.
    Or have yours professionally repaired.
There are two theories to arguing with women. Neither one works

Decided to bite the bullet on a Note II and, after using PocketPCs forever, it seems to be "okay" feature wise.

The large screen is definitely its biggest asset, but I found the pen input to be way behind the old JOT method, and that was like 10 years ago! I'm testing it out in the field without using a laptop, so we'll see how it holds up. For multimedia and quick communication it's pretty efficient, it even cropped / merged this montage!

Did you find a place to fix your screen? Finding the "online manual" still eludes me, but the camera app surprisingly has lots more settings than it lets on.

No, not yet. But I haven't pursued it.
