Which Go Pro should I buy?

My wife hates getting me stuff for my car for Xmas, so this year I asked her for a Go Pro...lol. She's all excited about it but doesn't know which one to get me.

I'm going to use the go pro for car vids, surfing (needs waterproof case) , and fishing, among other things.

So, for all you go pro users, any recommendations on which one to get? Or should I get something other than go pro, is there a better manufacturer/product out there?

Not sure what else there is out there but I have a HERO 2. You could buy the outdoor edition that will give you the helmet cam for outdoor stuff and just buy the car mount seperate for $30. My buddy just bought a new go pro though, not sure which model it is but he said it's better than the HERO 2.

if cars are going to be into it, you want the 3 for noise reduction. the 2 and 3 are nearly identical. night and HD quality are almosty exactly the same. if you want underwater filming, 3 is what you want..The 2's underwater is good, but 3 is better.
I have a 1 and a 2, forget about the 1. the 2 does everything well, and despite some wind and going through tinted wondows, the quality is really amazing. IIRC, the 3 is about 250-300 probably, and the 2 is right at 200 now.

now for white/silver/black edition, i have no idea what the differences are. if you get a 2 you'll be fine. if you get a 3, you might be overpaying for things you dont really need. i dunno. im currently debating getting another 2 or the 3 myself.. to me, a 2 is fine because the extra $100 is going to the wifi connection so i can start/stop with a button and leave cameras outside the car..

Yea, You would want like 60 frames per second for action filming. More frames the clearer the video and flow pretty much.

    No problem.

If you guys want to add ease to any filming, look into the WiFi connection. If u have an iPhone, u can stream the video your filming onto the phone as u record, as well as start/stop.
It would be extremely useful in car stuff

whats the difference between silver and black Hero 3?

as for wifi controlling up to 50 gopro's. that is correct if you use the gopro control. ive read reviews that if your doing it from an iphone, you cant do it yet. ALSO SUCKS because androids are not yet supported, which is what i use since im not a "me too fag", i mean "Ifag", i mean Iphone user
