Im so sick of those who cant see that socialism and comunisum are basically one in the same. An for the moron above to say that the constitution has nothing to do with how you live life you obviously take what this country is built on for granted. why do you think so many are fighting this "change". Not living in america for it to become another soviet union.

I have spent weekends in houses that are centuries older than the American Constitution.

It defies, well everthing, how self centered Americans can be.

You said the Quran is a greater document than the US Constitution. As if ancient religious documents have anything to do with the most progressive governing document ever created. I have nothing further left to discuss with you as your statement was quite simply idiotic.

Oh there are structures older than the American Constitution? Oh that means new ideas are invalid because there are things older in existence. Your thought process is off, severely.

Hope you realize how idiotic your statement is Sticky. ...most progressive governing document ever created??? Where do you come up with this nonsense.

The US Constitution might be the gratest thing ever created in the US, but again the US is just another country, rather young in fact, discovered by an Icelandic Viking an later claimed by a Spaniard.

This unbeliable self center way of thinking is exactly what is wrong with America.

Who cares who it was discovered by or how old it is? What does this have to do with government or the rule of law?

The idea was a social contract of the governed giving their consent to be governed. Without their consent the governing party is invalid and illegal. This would be justification for the United States breaking away from monarchy and the most powerful empire in the world which was a huge development. This then led to the French revolution and also the second oldest Constitution in the world and oldest in Europe which was the Constitution of May 3, 1791 by Poland.

You are bringing up an issue of age as if it is somehow relevant to government ideas or documents outlining the basis for government used.

The Quran, Bible, or whatever are completely separate religious works that have nothing to do with documents outlining modern government so therefore your statement is quite simply stupid and makes no sense. I'm having trouble even understanding how someone makes such a statement.

You ridiculous negative pre-disposition toward Americans blinds you so much you can't even see you are not making sound of logical arguments or statements.

Right... The Viking and then the Spaniard both discovered the US. You are confusing the country with the land.

The governments in power during the time in which that castle of yours was built also believed that "government" (monarchy to be honest) could mandate religious thought, could tax subjects endlessly, and chose to ship criminals off to distant lands instead of rehabilitate them. All of this courtesy of a small group of families that had somehow convinced 98% of Europe that their families had been chosen by God to rule over their subjects.

Had you said that the Magna Carta was a more important document than the US Constitution, you would at least have some sense of history and understanding of human political progress in the last millennium. Comparing it to the Bible and Quran, which only serve to imprison their followers through fear and superstition and empower the ruling classes of history, is truly pathetic.

Actually you are both wrong. You can't "discover" what was already there. Northern Tibetans aka "Native Americans" Already inhabited their rightful home land before Europeans came to steal it, and re-write history with them removed from it's books.

You can hate on European Monarchy all you want, but the fact is that they left their mark on human history. Theirs is a much better system than the US's modern day version of democracy, when it comes to empire building. At their peaks each of these European Monarchys controlled and conquered the world. Left their marks on foreign cultures. The US in comparison, with modern day democracy (crapocracy actually), has only a few islands to claim direct control over, and has been rejected by the locals during everyone of it's occupations (Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc)

Jesus and Mohammed are indisputably the most influential humans that ever lived. The documents that tell their stories (Bible and Quran) have been read by more people than will ever read or even hear about the US constitution. Even the communist manifesto is much more influential than the constitution.

The current course of discourse is an attempt by sticky to divert attention from his weak anti-obama arguments. Fact is: love him or hate him, he is our president. I don't like him myself, and these days I am more apolitical, politcal atheist, or even anarchistic. However, the kill list is something that I support. whether it kills US citizens or not, it is the right thing to do, and is a lot less expensive, and results in a lot less collateral damage, than the traditional: Lie and then invade countries rich in natural resources.

This isn't the first time the US has done this, as the CIA has been involved in high level assassination attempts, since it's inception. In fact, bin laden, gadaffi, saddam hussain, etc.. survived several assassination attempts with targeted missile strikes.

Try to resist the urge to troll. Educate yourself. I posted a detailed document on E85, which included the very important differences between a flex, and non-flex fuel vehicle.

You are absolutely not in my head, however It would be helpfull for many Americans to open theirs for some facts/truith, to keep an open mind and look at things from more angles than the one being fed to them through the US media.

You bring up the subject of foreign aid, which the US does a lot of, but so do many other countries. Even my home country, which went almost broke in 2008-2009 still gives a lot of aid to various countries, and accepts assylum seekers, that is just the way of nations. However, giving aid does not give you any rights, authority or influence in the country you are aiding. You make it sound like US aid buys the US the right to do what they feel is needed to protect the American way of life, but there you are way off.

For what its worth I live in total piece, not in constant fear like many Americans. Why.. Because I don't buy into any one sided media BS being feed to me, my mind is open to many viewpoints.

I saw that the US constitution has now become the talking point in this thread. What the hell has the US constitution have to do with Obama using drones to bomb other countries? Does the average American maybe believe that the US Constitution applies to the rest of the world also? That would be typical tough....

FACT: The US Constitution applies to the US only, it has NO LEGAL VALITITY in other countries, sorry if im braking it too you a bit harsly guys.
You have it all wrong man. Our aid is simply an example of our generosity - something that most American's have in common. We don't need to buy or ask permission to defend our country - from anyone. We don't need to talk about our laws or constitutions, or anything else. That seems to upset people and I can understand why; but that is something that we will never change. Neither will many other countries that hold that same belief.

Many people have forgotten that the purpose of government in the US, as it was intended by our founding fathers, was to PROTECT us and to not tax us without representing our interests. It was not to "help the middle class" or "play nice and ask for a vote on how we handle people colluding to vaporize us into pink mist".

I think it's hilarious that the guy that is stereotyping American people is accusing us of being close minded. You seem to watch too many movies about us or simply know a lot of dip$#@! Americans. We have our share like any other country.

Your average American does not live in fear. They are confident that we have the best military in the world and that there are many patriots working very hard to ensure that we protect our country. No individual, country, government, or way of life is ever perfect. So there will always be pot shots to take. I think we do more good than bad in the world.

You are comparing an ancient book filled with stories to a document that serves as the basis for government.

Do you compare science fiction to documentaries as well?

Mickey Mouse is known by more people than Thomas Paine. Clearly Disney's politics and government commentary is superior and more applicable.
