Weistec 2.3 liter and 3.0 liter supercharger size comparison

Ok, the 3.0 liter unit is the longer of the two here which may not be easily obvious. The volume increase comes as the screws themselves are longer and unless I am mistaken likely the exact same diameter as the 2.3 liter screws.

Cool to see the two blowers together:

Wow, that's soo beautiful. I really think this type of SC is probably the best type for the merc engines. So much torque and power from these root chargers.

I'd like to see one of these 3.0l installed with the stock v shaped engine cover, the orginal cog drived 2.3l looked so oem in this configuration. All 3.0l or 2.3l "direct drive sc" seems installed without this cover. I Think it can be done with a little more cutting than before ?

I'm not quite sure what you are referring to? I think the install with the 3.0 liter should be pretty clean as well and not all that different looking.

Excellent Article Sticky. I love those Weistec products. They sure do look promising. I think the horsepower ratings are very conservative. I've seen the stage 1 dynos on different 63's making much more than what Weistec are claiming. The M156 tuning has advanced to a different level. Congratulation to all the Weistec crew and thank you for this wonderful update.

If you look at the pictures of the 2.3 with the engine cover you will see that the longer 3.0 will need a cut all the way till the Mercedes badge taking into account if the pulley fits as the cover curves down I. The front. I persona
    Ly think it doesn't fit.

Then what's the problem? If that matters to you stick with the 2.3 as the 3.0 is physically larger and what you are asking for is an impossibility.

The only system that can retain the front cover without serious trimming is the CARB system. The Stage 3 system has a significantly larger compressor which will make it even harder to fit.

These cars run twin 74mm throttle bodies. Thanks guys!
