    Track Update Byron 8/3

    Sorry to report no records today. Four passes total, 11.0 missed two gears, 10.71 hit record limiter Between first and second, another 10.70 hit record limiter yet again, fourth and final pass was clean 1.69 60ft 10.60 at 137.22 but blew the blower belt off at 1/8 mile.....a great pass turned ugly real fast, who know what that pass could have been, went 107 in front half.

    The only positive I can take from today is a new person best for me but not the results I was looking for.

    Temp 96 degrees, DA +3750 ft 1:05 pm

    Damn. Isn't this like the third time you've thrown the blower belt ? I thought the new cog setup was supposed to fix that ? Not bad considering man, well done and keep us posted.

    HoozyerdaddyC63 was also at the track today. It was his first time ever at the drag strip, he had a great day and improved significantly from his first pass to his fourth pass. I don't want to steal his thunder I will let him post his own results if he wishes to do so. Great guy, very friendly, great to meet some other local enthusiasts.

    It's progress. Simply too hot to set records right now but at least you are running into any potential issues now and getting the launch dialed with all the new power.

    Ya, to be honest the thing I am most happy with is the transmission, it worked flawlessly when I shifted it right. The trans was the one question mark I still had. I posted slip because it's a personal best with this car. Trust me I am more embarrassed with my performance today than proud. I would have gone faster if I figured out the shifting earlier but I think I have it all figured out now.

    Grats on the run today. That car is a beast and really impressive in person. I can't wait til the next time. Bummer about the belt though. Still, with a 10.60 it just goes to show when things fall in place the end result will be jaw dropping.

    I left my slips in the car, but will post in a separate thread later. Thanks to all of you guys for a great first day at the track.

    No idea, I have already spoken with Steve and communicated with Mike via text. I will be sending them pics in the morning. Nothing is bent or damaged everything is true and straight. Not sure if we will get an answer why belt went. I am going to try to get back to the track on Saturday.

    Thanks, you did great today, great improvement from run to run and those were not ideal conditions however the track was hooking up, now we just need a day with track prep like today and temps about 30 degrees cooler. You should be able to go 11.75 with your set up.

    Here's a pic of the belt before it was pulled out. I was on my way back after my run, but heard there was smoke coming from the engine. All I was thinking was damn that car is fast as I saw it speed by like a bullet.

    Trust me I would prefer to run in S auto but it revs too fast and tcu cant keep up, it bangs off the rev limiter. My first pass of the day was run in auto and it was a disater, 11.0 with two missed shifs. later in the day in much worse conditions a went 10.70 10.71 and 10.60 shifting the car myself. Back when I wan NA and NA with nitrous I always ran in S auto , I wish I still could.....

    I always used to run in S auto, just taking some practice getting optimum manual shift points, this thing revs fast now. No trans issues, the trans and TC are perfect.

    The worst was the first race when some guy decided to showboat by burning rubber a couple hundred feet down the track and then left gas or something that had to be cleaned up and held up the start of the races for everyone.

    What do private rentals run anyway? Do you need to get a lot of people to get it for a decent price?
